My search of the forums didn’t turn up anything that explained the exercise itself. From some of the threads I found in the search, however, I was able to get a rough understanding of what ‘edging’ is. Can someone explain to me what it is and possibly point me to a section or thread dedicated to it? Thanks :)

It is a book. It gets talked about here occasionally, some guys find it very helpful and informative some not so much. It depends both on your current level of knowledge and how you respond to the style of writing. You can pick up a used one at Amazon for under $10.
