A Clamping Question

So I’ve begun a clamping routine using a shoe string and some toilet paper to keep it from causing pinching. It seems to be working great so far, I get great expansion when I do it.

I’m posting because I have a tiny bit of a dilemma. When I get the string tied tightly around my base my dick is as hard as a rock, but here’s the thing. While I’m clamped my girth right in front of the string (the inch in front of it) gets really really big (I gain a half inch in girth), however my penis above that all the way to the head doesn’t get nearly the same amount of expansion. It seems as though the string tied around my base is causing the penis right above that to become really really engorged and the rest above that to become full with blood and really hard but not expanded enough to get gains that I want.

Does anyone want to comment on this? I basically want to know if this is normal and/or what I should do to get the great expansion I get at my base throughout the entire length of penis so I don’t gain girth disproportionally.

What’s the difference in size between the base, mid-shaft and just below the head (in inches or centimetres)?

Do you get stippling (little bumps) on the skin on the glans?

Have you tried squeezing at the base? Or jelqing the blood along the shaft?

Maybe you should try a more conventional clamp?

Most clampers report the largest girth increase at the place the clamp is applied. I’ve tried clamping but I’ve not started proper girth-work yet— but when I tried it there wasn’t as big a a difference in dimensions along the shaft so as to make me worry about disproportionate gains, but that might just mean my expectations are different.

Needless to say, you should take care with those exercises since they’re pretty intense.

My normal measurments are around 4.85 inches mid shaft, 4.5 just below the head, and 5.25 around the base.

While clamped my mid shaft is around 5, below the head is around 4.75, and the base is around 5.6.

The key thing I’m concerned about is this: After I release the clamp and I’m doing other exercises my base stays around 5.6. It continues to be very very swollen looking. My other measurments (midshaft and below glans) go back to normal or barely bigger than normal which is frustrating. I know my base is going to gain I can just tell, but the rest I’m not sure about.

When I use a clamp the girth is biggest around the clamp. I guess as you move further from the clamp the force is still great but less than the point of clamping. I’m not sure if this has been discussed ever before and don’t try this because I say it but seems you might try clamping slightly further up the shaft and see what difference it makes. For all that is good on Earth be careful in fact I suggest you listen to someone who has a reasonable amount of experience clamping and not a newb like me.

I don’t have a great experience with clamping (I’ve focused mainly on length and only really experimented with clamping) but I’ll try and answer the question to the best of my ability:

To be honest with you, personally those measurements wouldn’t bother me, but I can understand why you might worried, after all, each of us is responsible for our own unit.

If your veins are standing out all the way up the shaft and your glans is getting very very engorged and hard and you see a kind of stippling of small bumps on the skin, I’d say that you’re whole unit should be under enough pressure to make good gains (you don’t have to maintain that level of errection all the time throughout every set (see the clamping thread for more info. on that, if you haven’t already), but you should be able to reach that state pretty easily whilst clamped. If you absolutely can’t reach that state while clamped then it might be an indication that something’s not as it should be.)

It’s possible it could be lymph build-up because of extra stress around the base, but that’s a total and absolute guess (pure conjecture). I’ve got a kind of hour-glass shape, and after pumping I have swelling around just the middle of my flaccid, because that’s the area which has to expand the most. I’m not sure if that’s lymph filling the tissues because it’s being sucked into them or if the lymph build up is due to the amount of stress on the tissue itself. If it’s the latter rather than the former it’s possible that it might be the same kind of stress that’s causing the swelling you’re experiencing. But as I say that’s really just a guess.

To be honest I’m really not sure what to say— if I had a better experience of clamping I might be able to give you a better answer, but I’m still working on length. Maybe one or two of the other forum members could offer some advice.

It’s a shame Big Girtha seems to have vanished since he was an absolute repository of knowledge with regards clamping.

I’ve done clamping before, but I won’t start again for another three months or so. When I did it, my rule of thumb was to judge how it looked “clamp-gorged” to how I would want it to look in real life. So in the case of it girthing too much at the base, I would do some jelq or squeeze work to get more to the head.

Though I never stuck with it long enough to make gains, I noticed there would be about 6-8 hours where the unit would just be bigger around, so it was fun to do before sexual activities later in the evening.
