I’ve noticed that a lot of guys have a stretched flaccid size which is longer than their erect size. I believe that gaining girth at the same time length is being gained can slow down length gains.

Think of it this way; imagine stretching a balloon as long as you can. Now blow up the balloon. There’s no way it’s going to be as long because some of the rubber that went into stretching is now being used to expand it sideways. In the same way, the more that your penis thickens, the more tissue is taken away from length. If you could become erect and then in some way stretch your penis sideways in crazy amounts, length would be lost.

It is for this reason that I have come to believe that it is best to work on length and girth separately. In fact, I would bet money on length being lost if girth is gained because of more sideways expansion.

Maybe this angle has been discussed before here. If it has I didn’t know but I haven’t seen any theory like this. What do you guys think?

I have done both at the same time.. No problems. Girth gains have slowed, but I haven’t worked on girth as much lately.

Gained a bit over an inch in a year and about .8” of overall girth (.5” Midshaft.. Lots on base :D ) doing a routine that didn’t really lean one way or the other.

It is ridiculous in a practical sense to separate length and girth. The emphasis is always on the erectile circuitry which is predominately comprised by blood and the tissue that carries blood. The goal is always to optimize the erectile system, everything that is done is done in the effort to improve the efficiency of this system. It just so happens that focused length exercises aim at the inner penis and girth is about increasing the volumetric intake of blood. You really do not need to separate the two because working on one always helps the other, the differences are quite negligible. It is silly to get stuck on this aspect of PE.

Most of my girth gains came from hanging.

I have only been starting doing PE since May (religiously this time). After reading many posts on here, I came to realize that there is a lot of individual variance in terms of length and girth gains. Some can gain length fairly easily, and yet some can’t gain much length after initial newbie gains. Some can gain girth more easily (just ask Big Girtha and Ironaddict69).

Our height, weight and body structure is predisposed genetically. Some are just naturally built large.. some are slender. Yes, a slim person can beef up by doing weight training and taking supplements (steroids whatever they fancy), but there is still a big difference in comparison to guys who are just naturally stocky and beefy. Likewise in penis enlargement, some are just naturally more hung and can achieve quicker gains.. it’s not fair if you ask me (but we can’t complain and compare everything to everyone, as there’s always someone with bigger penis out there.. lol).

Having said that, I believe girth gain and length gain can co-exist. It’s just that some people can achieve length gains more than others.. and some don’t.

Without a controlled study to test the variables (one group only does length exercise, the other only does girth.. and the swap and see if one exercise will hinder the gains of the other), we what read and learn are basically anecdotal experiences of others.

Another thing is by separating length and girth exercises, one can expect to achieve a more concentrated result.

The penis is relatively small and the idea is to get big, the exercises to do this are two or three (anything else is just superfluous and a process of reinventing the wheel), so you only confuse the process by construing perceived divisions of labor. PE will surprise you, one day your big girth wise (and not know precisely why) and the next day your big lengthwise (and not know exactly why). The reason this occurs is because you have reached certain thresholds that optimize your erectile system which is usually a result of expanded blood pathways that result in girth and length. Don’t over think it, it will just make your head hurt.

Phew! It’s been forever since I looked at this thread. I think I would agree with what 2dreambig said about length targeting the inner penis and girth targeting the outer penis. That actually makes a whole lot of sense. In light of what he said, I would begin working on both again if I thought it was practical but it isn’t. These days, I only have enough time in a given day to focus on one thing; length or girth. I’m going to continue with length for now until I reach at least 7 before I begin concentrating on girth again. My ultimate length goal is 8.
