Cable Clamp Pro V.s Classic Cable Clamps

Unfortunately a few years ago I threw away my cable clamps, so I need to pick up some new ones.

Have people tried the Cable Clamp Pro?

In my part of the world the Cable Clamp Pro is much more common, and actually cheaper, than the classic Cable Clamps.

I’m wondering if I should pay the extra for the classic Cable Clamp or whether the Cable Clamp Pro is okay for clamping?

I have a couple. They work pretty much the same.

Do they detach okay?

There’s no chance they might get stuck?

It’s basically the same product. The original is slightly easier to open.

It’s also slightly more comfortable without a wrap, because it’s more symmetrical, and a little less likely to pinch at the hinge. The comfort issues may not matter at all if you use a wrap.

If you don’t want to spend the money ordering the original, the pro should work fine.

Sorry. I never saw the point.

I’ve had both and I prefer the new Pro model over the Classic. I broke at least two of the Classic models, while the Pros seem like they will last much longer.

Do you know what people are using as a wrap these days? The wristbands that everyone used to use have, I think, been discontinued.

I use an armband made to hold a smartphone, is a bit finicky, but works if you don’t fold it into too many layers. The main challenge is that you will have some bunching of cloth, and that bunching has to happen at the correct spot of the clamp.
I clamp with “Cable Cuff Pro”, which are orange and black clamps, and I’ve had two break on me, both at the “claw”, both from the same cause.

As far as wrapping is concerned the only other thing I found that works is to cut a strip off of a mouse pad

I guess I’ll have to find something to improvise with. Maybe just some regular knit wrist-bands.

I used to have one of the old style Thera-P wrist bands but I threw it away with my clamps thinking I’d never come back to P.E. :/

Mr F. One thing that could make clamping more fun is have a nice gf give you head while you clamp.

Some guys have gotten all of their growth from clamping. Even up to 2” length and 1++” on the girth.

I cut a wrap out of old sweatpants. 2” x 8”. It keeps the clamp from pinching skin, it’s soft and takes up some room in the clamp to get a really tight squeeze.

Wow, really? It that really true? I hung the crap out of my unit to get the length I have; I can’t imagine clamping being able to do that.

I always subscribed to the idea that length should be tackled before girth. I’m about 1/2” away from my length goal and now I’m working on my mid-shaft girth at the same time.
