Choosing between Gains And Penile Health

I noticed that when I have more intense routines, I typically gain from that but my penile health is affected for about 24 hours. If I go light enough for good penile health and good eq all the time, I don’t gain anything. Is there a way you can choose both when you are past your newbie stages, or are you subjected to one or the other?

There have been a few times where I had both, but it was like finding a sweet spot that’s nearly impossible to achieve except by accident. Even then, it doesn’t last long.

My experience is that once past the newbie gains, you’re looking at 1/4” every ~ 6 months which is like watching paint dry and yeah you have to keep it right there in the sweet spot. And even there over time there are diminishing returns over time which makes it even tighter. Which is very hard to do especially if you have an assertive personality. If you’ve ever read my log it’s like I go over every so often and have to back track for a bit till I get back on track to make forward progress again. The process IMO is exactly as you describe it and I’m sure that reading my log I seem to be psychotic.

IMO it is that precise, very slow incremental application of tension just enough to allow for adaptation, without going over.

The guys here that for years advocate to pay attention to PIs are talking just about that, which is basically the feedback that tells you you’re close to going over.

I have experienced exactly what you describe and have not found a solution, except to do a campaign, deal with it and then get away from it

That is a question for the philosophers, intensity regarding our body can’t be quantified, it is really difficult to find this what you say: the limit and work around that limit. That was something always circled my mind when I used to hang + 10 kg or pump for long hours, because when I hang that heavy I felt uncomfort and sometimes pain, but when it comes to pumping and clamping I felt pleasure the more intensity I used or how long.
Because of that majority of guys be method and pragmatic, try to quantify things to keep record of the history, there are some trainings that you need to do that, I remember Dorian Yates style of training in the 90’s.
What I think I did unconsciously was to do Bib principle of riding the fatigue, I don’t think it is by any means the answer for the question of this thread, it was just my way of operating when that thought came by. Maybe we thundersplace veterans are always looking for that answer.
