How long can you hold stretches?

I’m stretching now and holding the stretches for 30 seconds for v-stretches and inverted v-stretches. I’m holding all other for 1 minute. I was thinking about increasing. How long do you recommend? Is it better to hold longer with not as much tension or hold shorter with lots of tension? Thoughts?

I hold for one minute, but as I’m new to stretching I can’t say for sure whether it is beneficial or not.

I’m up to 1:50 in each direction. I’ve heard of a few guys going 3 minutes. Granted, I’m only doing one set per direction (9 directions). I’m going to start adding A and V stretches and move up to 3 minutes, this will give me like 13 directions x 3, which with breaks, will be close to an hour stretching routine. My forearms start to burn after a minute and a half, hopefully this stretching deal will give me popeye forearms in addtion to a longer penis!

Oh, I try to pull as hard as I can while maintaing a good grip. One of the mods mentioned they use a tissue to help grip, after trying that and reciever’s gloves (football gloves), I decided the tissue works well, I just go through about 3-4 per stretching routine.


My goal is to be the best me, mind, body and soul, PE is part of achieving the best me.

I find it hard to get past 30 seconds particularly when stretching upwards, I was wondering if there is a better grip for stretching upwards?

I hold each stretch for 2 to 3 minutes. Latex surgical gloves make much easier to sustain the grip.

I grip with one hand, and pull up with the other hand. That way one hand is focused on gripping, and the other pulling, or pushing depending on the stretch. Two hands are better than one as long as you don’t start going crazy. I do the same with downward stretches.

Tissue, or fabric of almost any kind is also helpful for grip. I would guess I could easily go five minutes, but I mainly stretch on days when I’m too lazy to hang, or in between my hanging sets. As long as you don’t go past the 20 minute rule you would be fine. Of course that would be hard to hold for that long, lol.

2017: BPEL 6.8" / MSEG 5.3" / BG 6"

I am still only doing 30 seconds except for inverted v stretches which are 3x30 seconds (base, mid and near glans) without a break, so maybe you could call it a 90 second stretch but it’s in 3 spots. Still gaining without having to increase duration luckily. Also my count is a bit slower then real seconds so it’s probably more like 35-40.

I don’t know how long I do anything honestly. Maybe 5 seconds tops before my ADD kicks in.

Is there a reason why you haven’t increased the stretch time? Do you feel like you’re gaining with that? Is it intense stretches?

I was assuming ( shouldn’t always do that) you can stretch as long as you can hold it. Guys are doing all day stretching. Am I missing something?

When I first started I read a lot about stretching everything I saw said no more than 30, and my PE guru (he’s been at it almost 9 years) of sorts has gotten me attached to the theory of adding repetition before duration. Maybe in time when gains stop I will add more time per stretch but for now I will stick with what has worked(and hopefully is continuing to work).

It depends on a couple of factors.

The intensity of the stretch and your grip/arm strength. The harder you pull the shorter you’ll be able to hold the stretch and the stronger grip/arms you have the longer you’ll be able to hold the grip. Gripping aids, like surgical gloves etc, will also improve the holding time. Also note that your arm/grip will get more fatigued during the session so you’ll get the longest holds in the beginning of the session.

With a pretty strong stretch I can hold for about 20-30 seconds without any gripping aids, then my grip starts to slip. I try to hold a stretch for as long as possible and keep the pauses between the stretches as short as possible. I have gained about 1 inch in length without any hanging or extender device, so it can produce gains.

All day stretching (ADS) is using a device to keep your penis stretched for long periods of time. Search for Captain’s Wench for an example of an ADS.

How long did it take you to gain the one inch you were mentioning? I’m also having problems with gaining, but I’m only on my 5th week with the newbie routine. So far gained about 0.16’ in EL and about 0.10’ in EG. That is not much and I don’t know if I’m doing everything right. My routine is:

Warm up: 5min
Power Stretch: 10min (15sec stretches)
V-stretch: 5min (10sec stretches)
Jelq: 10min
ULI: 5min
Warm up: 5min

I’m working out 2 days on, 1 day off.
