Infrared heat lamps, any suggestions?

This is going to sound pathetic, but my god, it is SO hard to find an Infrared lamp for the purposes of PE. Has anyone found a good lamp that isn’t 6ft tall or over $100? Everything on Amazon sucks for PE purposes. I’m just looking for 150w lamp that is compact, that can be set on the floor and swivel up or set on a desk and swivel down. Philips Infraphil lamps seem like the perfect product, but christ I can’t find out how to get one here in the US. These types of Infrared lamps seem to only be offered in Europe, unless you want to pay for $50 in shipping to get it here, that seems ridiculous. Would love some suggestions for infrared heat lamps from the members here. I have one currently, a cheap aluminum reflector lamp that can clamp, but it is unwieldy and not user friendly, and feels like a potential fire hazard to boot. Thanks for any advice brothers.

I found the same trouble in Australia miltonic24, not that that helps you out at all.

I got one from Philips and it’s pretty good. But I’m on the look out for a one with a more flexible stand.

Girth gains for better sex, length gains for a worthless ego boost.

So many options here. I wonder why there are so few in the USA?

I think it’s purely a marketing issue in the US. Anything packaged and labeled conspicuously as “Infrared” seem to be expensive setups, geared toward medical/health uses. The other side of the spectrum are those less expensive items labeled as “Heat Lamps”. In most cases, the only mention of “Infrared” on these items will be, at best, in very small print on the box somewhere, or more likely, only in the technical specifications.

I just have to assume it has to be some goofy US legal/corporate/marketing nonsense that makes it so convuluted.

Home Depot has the Philips R40 for $10. You just need to buy the housing/reflector base with the ceramic socket. I think it does say “Infrared” on the box, but you will also see it in the specs that it is Infrared Light. I think that must be the same setup that you describe. I haven’t been able to find anything better for a reasonable price in the US.

I recommend you spend extra and get something called a ‘TDP mineral lamp’. They emit light at a lower frequency of the infrared spectrum and this heat energy is absorbed by your skin and flesh extremely readily, far more so than the normal ‘red’ infrared lamps you can buy for around $30. Search around on google or eBay. There’s basically only one producer of the TDP lamp and they’re in china and have made many different models but they all do the same thing so it doesn’t particularly matter where you get it from. This is an example of what I’m talking about.

When I got into PE I never gained any length until I used one of these bad-boys; there’s more to it than that and everyone’s different and furthermore it may not even be necessary but if you are looking for the best heating device around (in my humble opinion); it’s one of these TDP lamps. Oh, they’re also extremely good for muscle pain, cramps, bone pain, speeding recovery of injuries - I can personally attest to such results.

Hey thanks for the info Tweaking. I saw that same TDP Heat lamp on Amazon, one of the reviewers thought it had to be placed too close to the body to be effective but then it put you at risk of being burned by the lamp. Maybe the reviewer was a fool. Is this the same lamp you have or very similar? If not would you mind telling me what model you have? Thanks again for the advice, this is exactly what I’m looking for!

If it’s an infrared heat bulb, it is basically the same thing. Most reptile lights are much lower wattage and positioned further away. You want 150W.

I have been the biggest promoter of infrared heat here for years. I honestly think folk get too hung up on types etc. We are trying to warm the penis. Any penetrating heat source will work, be it a rice sock/gel pack over a damp cloth, a cup of hot water, or an IR lamp.

IR lamps are least messy, instant, provide constant heat, and can be used during a routine etc. They have lots of advantages. Certain spectrums of IR may be a tiny bit better at penetrating, but the difference isn’t going to be so huge that any other forms won’t work.

Most important thing with choosing an IR lamp is to make sure it has a ceramic fitting because they will melt a plastic fitting. And you don’t want to be staring at them; they are much brighter than you realise.

You can buy them on Amazon as well; yes. As for needing them to be too close to the skin, I definitely would not agree with that. Depending on how hot you can stand it, anywhere from 30 to 5cm seems to be absolutely fine. In my experience the heat from this thing is absorbed into your skin so readily it’s actually hard to burn yourself with it except at extremely close distances, unless of course it literally touches you; yes that will burn you ahaha. For a start they come with a cage that you can remove (I do) to prevent burning yourself (can still burn yourself on the cage if you’re careless but nothing serious) and you can easily burn yourself on a red bulb-type IR lamp anyway.

I couldn’t tell you which model I have because all the writing is in Chinese and I lost the instruction pamphlet years ago. I’ve owned 2, I broke the first one by dropping it and they both looked similar but not identical but both did exactly the same job. As I said there’s lots that look slightly different but they all seem more or less the same practically.

Having used the ‘red’ IR lamps and my lovely TDP I would have to disagree. I found the difference in magnitude and speed of the heat energy penetrating the skin and deep into whatever part of my body I happened to point it at to be profound. Any old IR lamp is still better than most other heat sources but I would still say a TDP lamp is significantly better in the ways that matter (not bright at all either!).

Thanks again Tweaking, I too owned an IR lamp, and it was the best thing I owned for constant heat but it was super bright, and a little too hot, had to push it away but then you were dealing with the brightness lol. Your suggestion seems very solid, I’ll be purchasing one of the TDP lamps asap!

Why not buy a cheap pivot/swivel/whatever they are called lamp and put an IR bulb in it? I’m not recommending this one, but the general style: Products - IKEA

Isn’t the bulb the main thing, not the simple fixture that holds it?

FWIW, way back I tried IR heating. For me, it was too fussy and too much hassle. The light was bright and annoying. Also, it was hard to get everything set up to provide enough heat, but not too much. Sounds nice in theory, but I went back to soaking in a hot bath before PE (best warmup there is, IMO), and using rice socks and similar heating pads. The microwavable ones are good for a heating or two. After that they’ve lost too much moisture and don’t work well until after resting. Rice socks are similar. Electric heating pads are wimpy these days and don’t get very warm even on the highest setting.

Because the bulb generates far too much heat for the fitting and would melt it.

I laughed when I saw this… Earlier in my career I did precisely this! haha. In theory it’s a great idea, in practice; not so much. I bought a lamp structure almost identical to that Ikea lamp which came complete with a ceramic fixture and everything seemed okay but ultimately the bulb is just too bulky and heavy and you end up with a far more dangerous situation than any other conformation I attempted. The ‘pivot-swivet-arm-clamp-lamp’, while it can take the weight (kinda) of the bulb, if jolted slightly can easily cause the whole thing to crash down, and that is one freaking hot bulb in there - not good.

Another useful tip I have is grab some white cloth, even a T-shirt will do, but white. Lay it over whatever skin you don’t wish to be heating up. It will reflect the heat surprisingly well. White gloves if you can get them, are great for preventing your hands from taking a lot of that heat.
