I have a question about people’s jelqing technique. I think maybe I’ve been doing it wrong for the past like 10 years, which is maybe why I’ve had such trouble gaining girth.

So this is how I’ve been jelqing (type 1):

Start completely flaccid, with an o-grip around the base. Start stimulating the penis, and as you get aroused kegel some blood into the penis and then clamp off at the base. Keep repeating this process (stimulating, kegeling, clamping) until 80 - 100% erect. Then jelq. The actual jelqing is the movement of the base hand up to the glans. My hand pulls the skin with it, rather than sliding over it.

I have jelqed this way because when I start flaccid, my tunica remains spongy during jelqing. For example it’s easy to compress my tunica with my jelqing hand, and maintain that compression throughout the entire jelq. For whatever reason I just felt like this way a better way to do it.

I have also always clamped like this, i.e. I start with the clamp on, stimulate, kegel, and repeat until fully erect.

The converse way (type 2) to do it would be to get erect, and once erect to clamp at the base. When I do this the tunica is NOT able to be compressed easily… it is very hard and rigid. Jelqing this way feels to me more superficial rather than hitting the deep tissues.

I’ve never actually gained anything form jelqing before, and maybe this is the reason why. Also, while I have gained a significant amount of base girth through clamping, it has been exceedingly difficult to gain mid-shaft girth for me.

So, I guess I’m just curious how most people jelq? Is it type 1 or type 2? Maybe I should start a poll to see the percentage of people who do each type, and what percentage of those people have made gains to see which way works better. Or maybe I’m the only one who does type 1?

I do type 1 with overhand grip its the best for me.

I do the overhand grip, mich easier for me and I can start my jelq deep into the base of the shaft working the complete whole unit. I concentrate most of the pressure on the two sides of each CC. I know iam getting a good workout in when the head of my shaft becomes shiny and tight (pressurized). As my routine goes on it gets more pressurized and more red, and shiny during the jelq.

I understand that if it was that simple just masturbating would make our units grow and everyone would have larger units so I do apply a good amount of pressure, but it always feels good, never any pain. But I’m really trying to create that expansion so I make sure to milk it tightly.

I’ve been jelqing for a few months now and I haven’t seen any real gains yet. I’ve jelqing with type 2 and as you said it doesn’t really feel that effective as my tunica is hard as shit as well.. Any more tips?

Do all of them. Which has the best impact?

I clamp off at the base starting with around 30-90%. Then I kegel in blood while at the same time tightening the clamp step by step.
Then I hold it so that nothing can go in anymore and cant get out.(keep clamp tight to base and pubic bones as far down as possible)
Then Ease it off a bit and kegel new blood in and tighten again.. rinse repeat.

Jelq can be done at all states from 10% to 99% erect. It should work the tissue. try different angles and intensities. It’s hard to jelq a 100% erection.

I’ve recentIy begun to do this aIso and have had good earIy resuIts.


Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"

So are you actually doing a jelq motion after you have clamped down and kegeled blood in? From what I understand it sounds like your doing short reps of partial erect ULI’s almost? Or do you push the blood forward by sliding your grip all the way to just below the glans and then repeat? Appreciate your feedback.

I don’t pull the skin while jelqing, should be smooth hence why most of us do wet jelqs, personally it allows me to jelq harder and more consistently.

That’s the only issue I see with your technique

I only grip at the base while doing underhand jelqs I also jelq in different directions and angles and at different errection levels, personally and it is all personal opinion I get better jelqing sessions from 60-80 errection levels straight out….nice balance.

I remember reading downwards works for length as it’s a stretch (lower erection levels) and higher angles for girth work (higher errection levels)

I will be honest I can’t rememebr the science behind it but it does seem to work for me.
