measure standing up or sitting down?

Maybe I’m not the first to notice this, but when I measure my penis sitting down on a chair, I get a measurement about a 1/4 inch longer than when I measure it standing up. I measure the same way each time. It seems that the penis tucks in a little when I stand up. I am talking about NBEL too. Anyone else notice this and is there a correct way to do it?
