Moist heat pads; any advice, recommendations

I am getting quite weary of my warm-up warm-down system. Having a pot of boiled water at my feet and two washcloths in rotation is getting old. Time to tentatively move my routine into the 21st century.

Moist heat pads look like the way to go. The TheraTherm 7 x 15 pad selling on amazon looks alright, cheap too at $30ish bucks. I am also intrigued by the digital pad with FIR (far infrared radiation) which sells on the IB3 site at about twice the price. All the infrared propaganda they’ve got to accompany it makes FIR sound like the bees knees.

Question: what does effect does infrared have in relation to your jewels? From what I know excessive warmth in that area kills sperm while cold stimulates production, and the idea of Far Infrared Radiation enveloping my nutsack gives me pause for thought, to say the least. Not sure when or if for that matter I shall be loosing my demon spawn upon civilisation, but it would be nice to have the option. Is my trepidation in relation to this FIR business unfounded?

If any experienced members could weigh in here and drop some science it would be most appreciated. TheraTherm or FIR? Or another contender I have yet to happen upon?

Here’s another option. I use the ThermiPaq wrap. You microwave it to warm it, and it holds heat for a good long time.

Thanks lampwick. Looks useful, but I don’t have a microwave and would be too lazy to microwave for warmup + warmdown even if I did, so still looking to go with something running on electricity. Any thoughts on FIR?

Can you give us a link on the product that you are considering? A search on IB3 (from your original post) mentioned a band and a Spanish television channel.

Good for you, for learning how to link. That’s a very useful skill to have here, especially in situations like this.

I did a little searching on far infrared (FIR). Far infrared is said to be close to the infrared frequency that the body itself radiates. The primary benefit of far infrared is the same one that concern you. It penetrates more deeply than ordinary infrared - up to 1.5 inches - so, yes, you would be heating up your testes if you used it on your penis. Some temporary reduction in fertility would seem possible. How temporary, I don’t know.

To be on the safe side, you could go with the less expensive pad, avoiding the far infrared and saving some money in the process. Your penis is still going to be well warmed.

The fertility question is something I think needs further study around here, since we are heating up our nads every session. Although I’m sure there are a number of older guys who wouldn’t mind knowing they are shooting blanks. Birth control as an added bonus of PE?

Looks pretty cool, the only review for it on amazon is from a guy who lo and behold uses it for PE, and I’m sure it would be quite useful as a general purpose massager besides.

Only problem is the c#@%s won’t ship it to Australia. Ditto for the TheraTherm, I just tried ordering them both for use as a combo, but no go down unda. Oh well, maybe this product info will be of use to the yanks.

Anyway I’m sick of the washcloths so I threw caution to the wind and ordered the digital FIR heat pad. Fuck it I’ll be a FIR guinea pig for the PE community. Will be slightly miffed if my testicles melt though, future generations might just get a pass on dealing with my progeny after all.

I’ll update this when I receive the goods.

I’m gonna provide a link to goonbabys’ infrared thread since him and gerry have looked into this far deeper than have I. Gotta admit, I am completely clueless when it comes to this infrared shit and fear now that I am in over my head. Apparently near infrared is good and FIR causes the collagen to tighten? That sounds counterproductive to say the least.

Oh well my FIR moist heat pad thingy is winging it’s way over the pond to my doorstep as we speak so let’s see how that pans out eh?
