Penis Size: The True Average

I too am skeptical of the average penis size being so low, but the average height I’m pretty sure is dead on, at 6’1” and I don’t see droves of people taller than me.

Why are you skeptical? What makes you think 5-6” is “low”?

According to the surveys cited in this thread, I am wrong. Lotta reasons why I think the 5-6 is low, one being I am larger than that, yet I’ve been called small. No need to open up a whole new can of worms on it.

But even people like Titliest has been called small before and he’s 9.2x6.5 or something like that.

If I had titliest’s unit and a woman called me small, I’d laugh my ass off, when you call a guy with something like that small, it just doesn’t work. That’s actually the size that if it was ever possible for me to obtain, I would cut way back on PE and just try and maintain it.

Did Kinsey (ask his respondents to) measure length underneath, rather than on top?

So does that means that most of Kinsey’s data are “false” by our standards?

Meaning that average is not 6.0 - 6.5 rather 5.0 - 5.5 ?

Actually 5.0 - 5.5 makes more sense as there are quite a few sporting this length.

retention_head, most have reported that Kinsey asked guys to hold paper cards to the side of their penis, so it should be a pretty standard NBP measurement. Weird to see the Kinsey Institute website giving out such a shoddy measuring technique.

padawan, Given all these studies, I doubt that the average (in well-nourished parts of the world) is any more than about 5-5.5” NBP, possibly closer to 6” in some populations. This is consistent with the pre-PE Thunder’s Place poll average of about 6.2” BP (we tend to use pretty “ideal” measuring techniques to get the largest length possible :D ). A good number of the Kinsey participants probably either measured wrong (“optimistically”) or fudged their number for some reason.

I’m one who struggles to believe what the “average” is supposed to be. Regardless of all the studys, I believe it to be about 6NBPEL(6.5+BPEL) X 5.25EG, maybe a little bigger on the EG. It fucks with my head, as I know more people around me that are significantly bigger than me, or the “average”. Actually the only one I know to be “average” or about what I am, is my own dad, and that’s probably because he is over 60 now. So of all the guys around me, that I know how big their dicks are, they are ALL significantly larger than me at “supposed average”, except for the one. I know that is a small slice of the population, but the percentage fucks with my head. My own brother is 7+NBP X at least 5.25 EG. I have 2 cousins (not related by blood to each other), one 7+ by at least 5.5eg, and the other who is a legend 8X6 (at least), biggest real dick I have ever seen. These are stats I know for sure. Further, other friends all seem to be 5.25 or bigger in EG. All over 6NBP which would be 6.5+ BPEL. I look for “average” dicks whenever I have the opportunity, and I honestly can’t say I’ve seen ANY that are my size or smaller (6NBPEL X just under 5EG) other than my dad. Where the fuck are all these “average” guys?? Mysteriously hidden within the studies I guess, because I never see them anywhere!

I understand the concept of keeping that “average” low so many guys don’t feel bad about themselves, but I really struggle to actually believe it. I’m not gay, but I’d love to hear from the gay members here who have “gotten around” quite a bit. I’d bet their observations are similar to mine. Gay members here would have a better idea on how to more accurately judge size than an average woman would. I don’t think I could believe that myth that most gay guys are bigger than average either. I just don’t know where all these “average” guys are hiding! Even reading through this site, the percentage of guys starting out under 5”EG is pretty small. I do see a lot of guys starting in the 5’s lengthwise, but they all seem to be thicker. Does any of this make sense to anyone?

You know what I mean…. :) I know porn is not a good example, but everywhere and anywhere you get the opportunity to see a dick, and it’s bigger than yours, you get the feeling yours is smaller than average, or least for me it is. It is human nature to compare ourselves to others. I know the “average” is in place to mostly make those who are smaller feel better, and I’m not trying to take that away from anyone. It’s just that nagging information I have in my head. Not that it’s that big of a deal to me, I’m married and fine where I’m at. Obviously I’m working on it though, for ME. Try any locker room. Most of the guys have flaccids in the range of 2-4”. I doubt most of these guys are growing to bigger than 4-7” with an erection.

What do you mean by these statements? That all these medical scientists from around the world, some of whose studies had nothing to do with dick size per se, are part of a coordinated conspiracy to make men feel better about themselves by outright fabricating small-penis data (and thus risking their academic reputations and indeed their whole careers)? :)

Firstly, Beretta92 how do you know the exact sizes of all these dicks in real life? :confused: Have you seen them erected? Were you with them when they measured? How do you know your brothers? Cousins?? :confused: Because flaccid to erect ratio varies, and people lie about their size sometimes. If you had a measuring party at your house with your friends fair enough. But otherwise, your impressions could be off. For example, when we look at others it looks larger then when we look at our own. Just because of the angle and perspective. You seem so sure of the measurements, when I read your post I had an image of you running around with a tape measure asking your friends to use it and tell them what it is or something. How do you "know for sure" (especially the girth) as you put it. :confused:

When you talk about the girth are you referring to what you see in sigs and in members pics sections or this poll, which is more well rounded? Because if you are less happy about your girth you are less likely to put it’s measurement in your sig or take a picture of it.
