Good post hugh, not that I agree with it though, and you know what that boils down to right? If the offensive terms are used in “clever, witty repartee” it’s OK. If it becomes a feeding frenzy it is not and will be put to a swift end. People want M&M shit, they can find it someplace else.

Lol..no XL. I am a jokster and meant resemble. Just playing. Was wondering who’d pick up on it. And was hoping Thunder didn’t come down on me for getting carried away. Just one of those posts you think twice about after hitting that final “Post Reply” button.

I’ve used it myself RTG, and so have thousands of other clowns, starting with Groucho, maybe even before him.

If I’m being serious though (which I admit is rare so listen up…lol). There really isn’t too much that gets way out of hand. Why? Because Thunder has picked a good group to be moderators and they take their job seriously. Granted some may think they are too strict or “power-hungry” at times, but hey this is a free, open site. Sometimes you have to crack down hard to keep everything in check. I think they have been doing a marvelous job.

I agree, the moderators are the foundation of this site, without them, it would all come tumbling down. Lead by Thunder, of course. (This is where I’d insert the smiley with shit on his nose, but I don’t think they have one for that.)

I don’t see this issue as a “younger members” issue or an “older members” issue. No matter your age, you should always treat others as you would like to be treated. I have seen absolutely no distinction between young guys and older guys in regards to disrespectful posts. A disrespectful post is a disrespectful post. There isn’t necessarily a need to distinguish between a young guy being a cocky jack ass or an old guy being a senile pervert.

With that said, I dig the hot chick avatars and I don’t necessarily mind the “CP” term. However, female input is a great benefit here at Thunders that helps to offer some fresh perspectives that our male minds can’t always conceive of. So when they have complaints (just like when any other member has complaints) we should listen to them and respect them.

The more female members the better, but I would like to know how they feel about this…

But maybe us young guys need you older guys around our serious raunch to learn from your experience.

One thing I really enjoy about Thunder’s being 23, is that here I am talking with men of all ages whom in regular life I may not have a chance to talk to about all the stuff we talk about here. I get to learn from men who are married, who have been married for many years, divorced, have kids, or are long time players etc.

I agree with Redwood on this.

No doubt, there is a big difference between a word and a feeding frenzy where bigoted ideologies are nurtured. I was focused primarily on the use of individual words that some find offensive.

As a moderator, the title is sometimes misunderstood and interpreted with images of police guys that intervene when trouble starts and otherwise try to stay as neutral as possible.
Nothing could be further from the truth and those members that have been here a while know that.
