I don’t think we would have to worry about that. There is just not enough reason for a person to go to that much trouble. And it would be found out very quickly. Then again, it would boost site traffic, hmmmmm……………

Thunder’s is high in Google though, so it must not be working.

FYI, I just reset the thread rating to only show a rating on threads with more than 10 votes. Guess what, not one thread is rated in the Hanger’s Forum now.

doesn’t sound like a positive result :( guess the rating system isn’t that popular. So much for democracy. Lets have a bit of totalitarianism then (after all we are all developing biological weapons).

So if a bunch of members with websites linked to Thunder’s, and Thunder had a sub-page here with links to them, then the forum would show up higher on google, huh?

You lose a ranking for each out bound link on your page, so they would cancel each other out. Also, in-bound links have a “weight” to them, if they have nothing but trash links pointing to them, their worth is “trash”. The primary reason why Google is THE search engine now. It is way harder to manipulate that just putting up a lot of link farms.

don’t think you need the link back. but yeah the more people who have links to thunders using the same text the better. Then people clicking through should boost it too.

So here I am with about 350 posts. If I had just keep hitting refresh while I was waiting for my 4 minutes to expire it would have made T’s move up on google, huh? I will need to start doing it now- every little bit helps. That is really cool :)

I agree with you three, where you all (T, 2 and Momentum) point out that someone needs to sift through a PE topic and pull out RELEVANT material, then deposit it somewhere where lazy guys like me can find it. Many times, great threads start then drift off topic or get polluted with gobbeldy-gook.

If ratings don’t work, then it will take brute force (manual labor).

I’ll help however I can.

I’m not a great idea guy, but I can follow instructions pretty well.

Even those of us that know absolutely nothing and have bad eyesight/gammy leg/piles/vertigo, and unsuitable as a candidate even for the lowest level donkey work and have a tragic inability to form a coherent will be able to do the sifting work :eek2:
