No really I do like the ‘covered better elsewhere’ name it make perfect sense. The only problem with this rating system is you now need a key to the star system as its not simply a linear scale.

I think a lot of the posts in the hangers forum are extremely applicable to non hangers so I’m not sure a split of hangers/main would be helpful.

Anyway where is the jelqers forum? I’ve been looking for it since I got here.

What I’d like from a best posts forum is the definative information but its never going to be quite that way simply because of the nature of a forum, post #29 in a thread may be perfect elegance and require inclusion but posts #1 thru #28 may be relevent and fairly reaonable ( I particularly notice this when Bib wades in) i.e. not worth cutting.

What hopefully we will end up with is a forum where within 1/2hr - 1hr anyone from a newbie to a lemondae drinker can get hold of a serious amount of knowledge they don’t have (or have forgotten). We will also end up with a resource to point people to and make it a lot easier for me at least to find the thread I was reading a couple months ago and is relevent to a current thread :)

Would it be within protocol to volunteer other people in the ‘Volunteers needed-apply within’ thread. It just occurs to me that there are a few oldbies who have some really good opinions but seem to be slacking off on posting right now so have some free time ;)

Anything that comes up rated four or five starts will be put in the “Best” forum. Actually, no one needs to rate a thread other than a five star. We are just attempting to pick the cream of the crop so to speak. Too much work to rate all of them, but if you have the time and the energy to rate each thread as you look it over, feel free. I, for one, would really appreciate your effort in doing that.

I still think the hangers and the main should be seperate. True some information overlaps, but hell we can’t do all the work for the reader. We have to leave something out so they have to work a little bit anyway.

You can hyperlink directly to a particular post in a thread. Get the link from the “Post #” in the top right hand corner of the individual post. It will take the reader directly to the linked post.

who’s writing in red on my posts ? Aren’t there enough moderators anyway. Seems like every other person who posts is a moderator.

now I know that 2 had you just about admitting to the fact that its just as easy to rate everything if you are going to read it anyway. As I think thats the case i’ll do my best to rate everything (damn a commitment, never mind I’ll edit it out later).

Point taken, if people can’t be bothered to read the hanging posts I guess thats up to them.

Where did you say the jelqers forum is? jelqers have rights too, no longer should we be relegated to having to post in the main members forum. Anyway what does it tell the newbie about PE, I think it suggests that hanging is more important/valid as a method.

There are a lot of moderators and they do post alot, which I am glad of. One of the perks to being a moderator is that you can edit in other peoples threads in bold red font. Another perk is that you can edit your own posts days later. You probably blew your chances already though. :D

Jelqing is the “MAIN” PE exercise, so think of the MAIN MEMBERS FORUM as the jelqers forum. Best we can do. I don’t want to have to do a stretch and a PC forum after all.

The Hanger Forum being seperate tells a newbie that hanging is serious stuff and complicated enough to require a complete forum on it’s own.

I guess that another thing you can do is remove the red type so that people reading the thread think the poster is mildly mad.

I’m glad you think of Jelqing as the main excercise :) but I bring your attention to posts like:

I guess its easy for people to assume that the more kit you buy the quicker you gain (that actually seems to be working in 2in2002’s case).

There’s me thinking that you started the hangers forum so that you could pass ultimate responsibility to Bib ;)

btw is it safe to start this rating excercise now? or are you all of a sudden going to post saying you’ve removed the ratings for a clean slate?

It is safe to start rating now. I can not remove the ratings completely, only change the number of votes required before the ratings are visible to members. So yes, get to work.

No—the Main thread is where most manual exercises are discussed, and it has 9000 posts. ‘nuff said.

Thunder…it is possible we could use this software for a fairly effective knowledge base, depending on whether or not it allows “boards” below the first level. E.g.

Knowledge Board (top level)
————
Manual Techniques (with jelq, stretch, squeeze, etc… under)
Hanging (same structure)
Supplements (same structure)

…or however we want to organize it. Would it be possible to grant individuals “psuedo-mod” status, meaning they could copy posts to just certain boards they have full rights over (so they could rename posts and such for better description)?

I think it is possible to do Uber, but after you get past the second level it put a large load on the software, slows the board down with each level.

Gotcha. A better (but more labor intensive solution) would probably be a separate web page (HTML-text based…quick loads). One person would probably have to be in charge of maintaining it (simple tree structure and such) and others would determine the content of their branches, organization, as well as provide the site maintainer with the “pages” already properly formatted (based on some easy to use template we could create).
