Homemade Extender the White Knight 2
Hey guys.
Want to share my latest extender design with anyone who is interested.
The design is much smaller and way lighter than the Original White Knight design, and much easier to build.
Instead of using 1/4” bolts, I’ve switched to what are called “Chicago Screws” and extensions. They are aluminium and available at Home Depot along with everything else needed for less that $20. They come in 1” and 1/2” sizes and are easily threaded together to make rods of the desired length, which can be just as easily extended in the future.
I’ve added a second set of springs to extend the “range” of the tension so small body movements won’t vary the tension quite so much.
I’ve removed the adjustment nuts and instead opted for a spacer that can be increased in length as needed.
The rods and head of the device still separate from the base.
This design still uses the quicknoose system from the old design because getting in and out quickly is paramount to me. It allows a simple adjustment free method of securely and consistently applying the noose. The animation is of the old design but still shows the basic mechanics. This image better shows the actual working position of the device.
Once it’s initially set up, you just clip it on and wear it, without having to worry about readjusting everything every time to get it to where it was last time, and get the same tension, grip and comfort every time.
Attached is a photo of the new design and the parts list.
