Hanging While Sitting - Touching The Ground

The weights are touching the ground, not my penis. That would be a problem many of us might wish for.

I’m using the MaleHanger and a large D-ring / D-clip with some miscellaneous weights I have. The D-ring has to be pretty large to accept the weights. So, when I’m sitting, even with my chair all the way up, the weights are pretty close to the ground. I can think of a few ways to fix this, but I’m curious what others are doing.

I would suggest building a weight rack for hanging. There might be some pictures in the hanging forum.

Your setup is just barely working now. Imagine how hard it will be to put 10 lb or higher weights into that D-ring /D-clip.

To answer your question, I built a weight rack device using an item from the hardware store. It is an eye bolt on one side and a hook on the other. I removed the hook and just used a reverse threaded bolt. Then added maybe three washer to cover the hole size of the weight plate. Maybe cost me 10 dollars. Will hold an amount far heavier than I can hang. I will upload a picture later if you are curious what it looks like.

I believe it is called a turnbuckle. Then on the hook side that I replaced, I got two washers that are about an inch diameter. Then put a large fender washer between them. The fender is bigger than the hole in the weight plate. The washers that surround it are intended to keep it from sliding around since the fender has a larger center hole.

It’s a turnbuckle. But why not just use the eye bolt with 2 nuts and the washer? You would save even more vertical space. The shorter the better right?

For me it doesn’t come even close to touching the ground. The entire turnbuckle setup is 4.5” long.

However, now that you say it, an eye bolt with 2 nuts and a washer would probably do the exact same thing and would probably drop a couple inches off the length.

If I ever need to rebuild it I will probably give that a try.

Ironmind thanks for the photos and info this is great, may have to buy one.

Just wondering how this effects the weight distribution as I am currently hanging with the weights hanging straight done as opposed to them lying flat as seen on your snap clip. I would imagine my hanging setup would exert more force as there is less surface area.. But I’m not sure.

Also dayum, is that how much weight you are hanging with? Thats looks like alot, I only using 5kgs

Nice weights man they are not bad. Sadly not in the states we don’t have a walmart here. I’m happy using normal gym weights!
