Hi, I just started hanging (with a very low weight) and just want to know whether i’m doing everything right. I’m usually hanging BTC straight down from a chair, currently i’m feeling stretching at the top near the base, afterwards I feel a soreness in the pubic area but its mostly internal, hard to really pinpoint. Is this normal? What is usually the recovery time?

Well, it sounds normal, but you would have to give a lot more detail to know for certain. The best way to check is, while hanging, feel how tight the skin is at the base. If there is a little slack, you know the ligs are taking the burden. If the soreness is right above the pubic bone, and it is not the skin, that would be the correct place.

Do you mean recovery to hang again? Or recovery to feel no more soreness? You should hang while fatigued, at a lower weight if needed. When you cannot hang 1/2 of your max weight, it is best to take a break, or hang at a different angle. One which does not stress the already totally fatigued tissues.

Even after reaching total fatigue, I could usually hang my max within 24-48 hours. Usually within 24.

My skin is very taut on the sides while hanging - no slack at all. Often after hanging I will see redness on the skin at the base of the penis and feel an ache in the tissue when I press the pubic bone. Am I doing it wrong?

thanks for the help…i’m not feeling the soreness anymore so maybe I am getting accustomed to hanging but also could be because its only 2.5lbs. I have another question regarding the wrapping (therabrand), I think I have more loose skin between head and circumcision scar so try as I may it to pull it towards body, it always tends to gather towards the head when I hang; I remember you said to pull all skin back to body in the product guide so is there anyway around this or does it not matter? I usually attach the hanger at the base and the head is about .5-1 inch away from hanger. I don’t feel any pressure on the head either.

Sorry, I don’t know how I missed your question.

The question above was not a right or wrong thing. You are not doing it wrong either. My comment was simply the way to see whether the skin or ligs was taking the burden when hanging BTC. You are going to have tight skin from time to time, especially when starting. That is the first thing you need to stretch. Vary the area of attachment a little to work skin and ligs alternately.

If you are not feeling anything, you are probably not making progress. Go up in weight slowly until you feel the soreness again. Or, you might need to go up in sets.

That is normal. You just don’t want the hanger going over the head.

Well, if you wrap one inch behind the head, you want one inch of skin in front of the wrap. Pulling the skin from under the wrap means the skin under the wrap only. Not the skin in front of the wrap.

Attaching at the base means you are probably stretching a lot of skin right now, which is needed. Simply move up in weight as you feel it is needed.

I keep posting this but can’t find my post.

I am new to hanging, and before I hang I wrap my penis with an ACE bandage. I pull all the skin forward then wrap from the tip down. When the Bib hanger is attached and hanging it hurts, it feels like its really pulling the skin. I also get discoloration very quickly. I hang with 10 pounds for 15 minutes. What am I doing wrong?
