Rethinking the Bib Hanger

No I went right to the regular bib and it was an excellent lig hanger and I gained about an inch from the bib. The reason I ripped the jell out was first because it started to get loose on it’s own and when I told bigger he said to keep it and try it without the jell because we had been talking about my girth issues with the bib so I tried it and liked it. He had also sent me a replacement anyway bigger gives amazing support.

I’ll be anxious to hear how you do with the unpadded Starter, Dino. You can hang BTC, OTS and especially fulcrum with it. Please let me know if I can help you in any way.

Thanks my friend your the reason I rethought the bib. I’m trying something I always wanted to try if it doesn’t work I may switch to a routine that you recommend.

Okay, I should have scrolled down the Hanger’s Forum and replied here rather than on the “Is the BIB Hanger no longer available” thread.

I won’t repeat my post, but have an additional question. My husband is eager to purchase a hanger, he’s done the newbie routine for about 6 months, and feels ready to purchase a hanger. For MY peace of mind-and in the hope of not filling the junk drawer BEYOND capacity-should he wait and see if this “new” design goes into production, or purchase the original product? How good it the customer support from the Bib person?

Customer support is very good I would wait and see where the new molds go.

Send him an email and ask him what he thinks bib_hanger@hotmail.com

Gentlemen,

The following is from a pm I sent too one of the members here for his interpretation and on his advice I am reposting it here, no I’m typing it here cause I don’t know how to do that yet.

Please comment on what comes to mind in regards to this interesting thread.

“……So,
If I were to open the bottom settings up to go into more spread wide configuration and wrap with a single HTW folded Back on itself I would have for arguements sake setting 1.

What would be the effect if the gel is than removed from the hanger for the same bottom settings as above to give setting 2?

Would this mean that the remvoal of the gel now increases the well spaciousness when the hanger is tightened up around the shaft BUT that by not having the gel the hanger now grips better than with the gel for the same setting on the bottom hex nuts?

You reported somewhere that Bigger or Jelktoid said “not having gel made the hanger grip like a mother” If it grips like a MOTHER with no gel as compared to with gel than GMJ’s logic thinks that he can very deliberately open the bottom gap up to go for a more spread wide setting (to reduce urethra squashing) BUT still using the same thickness of HTW’ing cause the hanger now grips like a mother. Do you see what I am trying to ask here?

I know I gotta use another HTW to increase effective girth, I also admitt too putting it off but I am trying to get it more clearer in my mind about what happens as the spread wide increases and you then apply another layer of wrap in comparison to increasing the spread and not using the extra HTW whilst having the gel removed from the hanger.

GMJ’s logic is thinking if gel removal increases grip than the extra HTW may not be required as the spread wide setting is increased…………..”

What do you fella’s reckon about my logic here? I will be putting it into practice soon once I am over this damn Flu.

Thanks

GMJ

Give it a try and let us know how it works.

Can anybody report what’s happening with the unpadded hanger that some of you are trying? It sounds interesting, and if it becomes available I may get one for my husband. He is very impressed with the BIB Hanger he purchased and has been using for a short time.

il,

Bib told me last week that he’s considering offering the unpadded BH for $70. He’ll soon send out further questions to the beta testers.

He also said:
“I have not made a decision on whether to produce the unpadded version which
you tested. While it had positive reviews, you and one other guy changed
the hangers, which slants the results.”

I expected more guys would have mentioned issues with the spaciousness of the well; unless they use a fistful of Theraband wrapping.

I really have to say that I’m hooked on the new bib starter hanger I think that bigger has reclaimed his throne as maker of the best hanger again.

What for you makes it better then vacuum hangers gerrykjohnsons in your expierence? I ask because I just ordered a vacuum hanger and was wondering what makes you feel this way about the new BIB? Is it more comfortable (which I can’t imagine compared to a vacuum hanger based on what many users of both hangers have said here at TP, maybe for heavier weights?), easier to use, less problems, etc? I hope I chose the right hanger for me :( . I still plan on buying a new BIB standerd eventually though if anything just to add to my PE toolbox.

LoveMachine:

For lighter weights or ADS, the vacuum hangers are fine for me.

The heavier weight seems to produce too many water blister issues. Keep in mind, we’re all different. I know some guys can hang heavy with the vacuums. When I speak of heavy, I mean 15 lbs or greater.

I use the new Bib with a piece of sweatshirt material and Theraband (small quantities of each).

gerrykjohnsons,

What’s your EG at point of the shaft where you attach the hanger?

Aside update note on patches for filling up well space:

While I’ve been improving the patch fix I harped on about a couple of weeks back, I don’t think I’ll be needing a patch anymore now; I’ve been grinding away little by little on the teeth of my beta BH, and it’s now superior to the old Starter, without the patch.
Still I think a patch can be a very worthwhile project to look into rather than overwrapping, for guys with slim shaft girth. The feedback on patch fixes hasn’t been overwhelming, but for those interested I’d like to encourage not to ditch it even if you found neoprene didn’t work satisfactorily. I picked up a firm, spongy mousepad of app 6mm thickness which works much better; easier to cut into shape, and it sticks much better to the tape.

What type and approximate amount of wrapping are you using?

EG? or FG?

EG is about 6, FG is about 4.5. Of course I don’t hang with EG.

Sweatshirt material: 6 inches girthwise, 5 inches length

Theraband: about 15 inches of the 1 1/2 width wrapped like a barber’s pole
