Vacuum Hanger vs Bib Hanger?

I’m looking to get into hanging eventually - the possibility for base girth gains really excite me. In deciding between a Vacuum-style hanger or a Bib Starter, the only comparison I’ve been able to locate is the first post of Hanging 101…now, this is a great post, but I’d like to hear your experiences with what worked best for you. Here are some additional questions I’d like all the hangers to answer:

What were your gains (length AND girth) from hanging? In how much time did you achieve these gains?

Which style of hanger brought you these gains?

Which style of hanger do you feel is more stressful on the penis? (in regards to how it attaches, aka clamping behind the head vs swimcap style).

I’ve read about Vacuum hangers possibly constricting less bloodflow than the Bib, thus allowing for more comfortable and longer sets (but at lighter weight)…but people seem to love their Bibs! Just wanted to get a feel for anyone who has used one, the other or both, and which you guys preferred. As of now I’m leaning toward the Bib, solely due to its widespread reputation around the PE world. I have a sensitive unit, however, and worry a bit about the clamping style attachment of a Bib Hanger (might be too rough for my little guy).

Hi Smallja,

Don’t waste your time with vacuum hangers, according to my experience the gains don’t cement well (only 35% vs 100% for the bib hanger).

Bib starter hang : +0.6” after 8 months (+0.4” for the girth),
Vacuum hang : +0.1” after 5 months (nothing for the girth).

I have only tried the lingam extender bell. With the absilicone ads, I have got a big blister (which exploded) on the glans after only one hour (it took one week to heal), I have not been further with it.

The Bib starter is more stressful and painful. After 2-3 months, you have to do breakouts. Vac hangers are very soft and comfortable to wear but the results are not enough attractive.

If your penis is too sensitive for the bib, that means that you have not yet enough prepared your unit. Do more manual PE : stretch, jelq, and advanced : manual clamp, uli. With each month longer sets duration, stronger intensity.

I will disagree a bit with my friend above. I have used both the bib and vacuum and find the *(homemade) vacuum to be more comfortable. However I had issues with durability, therefore I am now using theraband alone.

I wrap using the theraband alone and use another piece of theraband as the weight by making a “loop” of it by putting each free end into my wrap and then putting my foot through the loop and straightening my leg.. I can adjust the weight/resistance in an instant and changing positions is a snap. With this method it is really easy to “work into” the stretch.

Hope this helps.

I have achieved my short term goals 7 x 6++ 17.78cm bpelx 15.2cm mseg 17.1cm beg...

long term goal 8 x current girth

Pulling force is pulling force. So I think vac hangers are better since they are more comfortable for a given amount of weight. But I could never use a vac hanger with more than 10 lbs, and 10 lbs wasn’t enough to induce any kind of growth in my dick. So vac hanging was a giant waste of time for me. But I would think they’d be the best for anyone who needs less weight.

Are you using thereband wrap?

What level of weight are you using and for what time?

Hi djrobins,

Yes chamois skin and theraband over it. I have not found a better wrap.

Best configuration : 7 x 20 min 4.4 lbs (2kg); 8 min of infrared (150W) before each set. 1d on 2-3d off.

I never even thought about chamois skin. Thank you so much for that idea.

There are some doing the infra red during their sets. Is the infrared that you are using designed as to not to heat flesh “too hot”?

Wondering how you are affixing the “weight” to the chamois skin.

And thanks, and congratulations on your recent successes.

I was using a Beurer IL 30. With a distance of 14” (35 cm) between it and the penis. I have an alluminium sheet with a hole, I put the penis into the hole to protect the balls and the thighs. Two months ago, the lamp has fallen and the red bulb has broken. I intend to buy the Beurer IL 50 (which includes a flat bulb and 300W).

The weight is attached to the bib starter hanger that pinches the penis over the wrap (chamois+theraband).

How warm does the cock get with this device?

The initial goal of the infrared lamp is to stimulate blood circulation to recover quicker from a disease or from an injury.

When you heat your penis with it, you can literally see your cock moving/dansing, all the tissues are slowly stretching. It gets very warm, at the limit of the bearable.

You should put a thermometer on the skin… Of course overheating the cock or any other part of your body may not be a good thing to do.

Thanks guys for the responses so far, have read some great techniques and opinions from you bunch.

As for the infrared lamp discussion, I personally use this bad boy:

It’s specifically designed for physical therapy/healing purposes on the human body, so I would assume it does not overheat the tissues. Works great every time I’ve used it, really a world class warmup (still can’t decide whether warm water submersion or IR lamp is best…my brain has me leaning slightly in the direction of the IR lamp, but I don’t know why). Both are great warmups, with water of course being a little cheaper and easier to attain.

If it’s even close to warm water, thats great because the heating lamp will bring in a ton of flexibility - IE being able to heat the tissues in the extended state. Thanks for the info.

I have been using a vacuum hanger since 2011. When I first started using the hanger I measured in at 5.5 BP length. At the height of my workouts ( a couple of weeks ago), I measured in at 6.25 BP length. So in the two years that I’ve been using the vacuum hanger I’ve gained .75 inches in length. So yes, it is possible to gain with the vaccuum hanger. However, it is extremely hard to be consistent because all sorts of injuries can arise. I’ve dealt with four injuries during the last two years. Blisters are an absolute nightmare. I’ve had a couple of those. Basically you have to take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month off, depending on the size of the blister. When you resume hanging you have to reduce your weight significantly and work your way back up. It’s extremely frustrating. There’s also another injury that can occur, this one being kind of scary. I actually had this happen to me exactly a week ago, and I’m currently recovering from the injury. I was on my first set, hanging 14 pounds. Everything felt fine. After the 15 minutes was up, I lifted the weight and walked over to my bed so I could remove the hanger. As I did this I felt an extreme sort of differential pressure on the head of my penis. When I removed the hanger there was blood leaking through the micropore tape. I knew this was serious because there was a lot of blood. I just stared at my penis for like 5 minutes, heartbroken in a way. I then cleaned up the mess, almost in tears, and thought about my recovery schedule and how long I would be out of action. I didn’t want to be out of action for too long, because in my experience the ligs start to really toughen up after a couple weeks of inactivity. I thought that I would give my penis a week off, and then try to do a single set in a week’s time. Well, I just tried to do the set about a half hour ago. I lasted about two minutes. I could tell something was wrong, it didn’t feel right. When I removed the hanger there were around 20 blue/black spots on my penis head. And so here I am. Unfortunately, I think I might be finished with vaccuum hanging. The penis simply cannot withstand the pressure when you hang with heavier weights. At 14 pounds, I had to reduce my sets to 15 minutes because I could not tolerate the pain. Not to mention the fact that blisters could easily form if I went the full 20 minutes. The bottom line is that vaccuum hanging is only safe up to I would say 10 pounds. You can try and push it to about 15 pounds if you’re lucky. But hanging any more than 15 pounds is just asking for an injury. My advice to those considering purchasing a hanger would be to go with the Bib. That’s not to say that vaccuum hanging is ineffective. It clearly works, you just have to be super careful. I will always remember my vaccuum hanging days fondly, and I’m so happy to have gained even .75 inches. But I have not yet reached my goal of 7 NPB length, and so there is more work to be done. If you’re after extreme gains, you will have to eventually switch to the Bib anyways, even if you started out with the vaccum hanger. At this point, I will probably purchase a Bib Starter and continue to hang. Or I’ve considered buying a vaccuum pump and see if I can get length gains that way.
