Vacuum Hanging

Check out my injury in the injury forum. Wrap was perfect as always and somehow I still got a blister, I think it’s more down to overdoing it though and the skin became fragile.

How long has it taken you guys to heal completely when you’ve gotten blisters? Its been about 5 weeks now since I got mine. I tried to do just 20 light wet jelqs today and ended up with one nasty looking dick. The tip where I got the blister gets all red and bruised looking. Last time this happened it took me forever to heal completely too. At this rate I’m going to be out another 5 weeks. Man that makes me mad!

Now I think about it the place I got this blister was the same place as before, I don’t think I gave it time to heal. Actually I know I never, hung about a week later.

KIMC I just checked your injury thread. Damn that looks nasty. Good luck with that man. As you can see from my post above…it’s taking forever for mine to heal. Mine was huge…but it was not filled with blood. However, it did bleed after it popped for a few days. I tend to agree with you that it maybe just because we are over doing it.

How long was it that you got your last blister? Mine was in the same spot as your too.

Blisters are very avoidable with experience. The key is finding a good wrapping technique and then limiting your time. I hang at 20 lbs in 15 min sets and have not had a blister so far this year. I do about an hour a day, most every day. When I get a blister, I pop it with a sterile needle and it is healed in about 6 days. I completely wrap the head and down the shaft about an inch. The first layer is Hypafix tape (Hypafix dressing retention sheets). The second layer is waterproof tape by 3m or NextCare. It is a light tan color and feels like rubber. Then I tightly wrap the head with a compressive no-adhesive tape. I use a vacuum hanger like the Grip system, but right now I can’t remember the name of it. Also 20 min. bare in a vacuum tube before you do all of this really firms up the head and makes the whole process of taping and hanging easier.

It seems to be healing quickly, I’ve been using aqueous cream which is helping. I won’t hang for a few weeks though until it is defiantly healed then I’m going to wrap as normal but making sure every spot is tight, no loose bits and if I ever feel somethings slightly wrong I’m stopping and redoing it, No chances next time. I tried Wet jelqing yesterday and manual stretches, was ok never really hit the blister part so I might do that for now unless it becomes a problem.

Yeah, Overdoing it is defiantly the problem. I though about how much I’ve been doing lately and it’s much more than usual. My 2 days off work I hung around 2x45 minutes SD and 3x45 minutes BTC for each day. Work days was at least 3x45 minutes. I use to only do 2x45 minutes sets and had no problem.

I’m not sure, wasn’t that long ago though and still had a wee light spot on my head from were it was, I think the skin must have been still week and over hanging broke the skin. I say broke the skin because it was like a wee hole his time were the blood was coming from.

With the likelihood of downtime due to blisters, do you still think that you will have better success with vacuum hanging than with clamp-style hanging (Bib)?

start 1/20/08: 6.0 nbpel, 5.5 eg, 4 fl, 5 fg

now 6/30/12: 6.75 nbpel, 5.875 eg, 5.0 fl, 5.125 fg

I think there’s ups and downs to both. It depends what you feel comfortable using, I like the vac more but might use the bib again. I think gaining is more to do with consistency.

With a vac you can hang for longer sets but blisters are a problem but shouldn’t be if the wraps right. With blue sleeves I’ve tried over 15lbs but irons hung 20lbs with the red sleeves.

With a bib you can use more weight but sets are 20 minutes long and discoloration can be a problem and the wrap can be tricky for us uncut guys.

I appreciate your observations. I have been hanging for about 2 months with a Wench (up to 8.7 lbs now) and am wondering what hanger to move to next. In spite of my suspicion that I am blister sensitive (the Xleeve game me problems), I was leaning toward a vacuum hanger; all of the bolts sticking out of the Bib gives it a Frankenstein appearance that looks like it will cut up my legs…or worse. Anyway, since I’m getting used to the wrap and am cut, it looks like the Bib may be the way to go for the moment.

That’s a very good question actually. I have hung with both. I like the Vac SO much better, and the thought of going back to the Bib just deflates me. BUT…if I get a blister it literally puts me out of PE commission for a couple of months. I do think that I may have been over doing it a bit when I got my blister. I think the key is to really watch the condition of the skin where blisters are prevalent, and if it starts to look discolored take a break or change your routine up, and do something different for a while. And ALWAYS make sure your wrap is on good. I think a lot of us are still trying to figure out the best way to do this through trial and error. I have hopes that someday we will be able to hang much more weight, with less problems.

This is what I was saying about the vacuums too. If I get an injury I’m out of the game for a month but with the Bib I can back off on the weight and let it heal. This is why I gave up on the vacuum hanger it’s just not worth the surprise downtime.

I’m not putting the bib down but the way it grips can feel like it’s crushing the penis, I don’t like that feeling! People might not like the feel of the vacuum though so it’s just down to the person. I do think overdoing had weakened the skin and I don’t know if this has anything to do with it but I didn’t wet jelq for a week and a half and my skin dident feel as good, this could be that I jelq with coco butter?

Since skin is exfoliating and regenerating I’ve always been confused on whether or not a vacuum hanger can ever condition the skin as it has been said by others. But there’s no doubt the lymph fluid and blood blister problem never completely goes away due to the physics of it all I guess. With the Bib I think my experience from it crushing the penis was really from moving up in weight too soon.
