Why we don't gain from hanging

Hey Marinera, thats a great read. I like the idea of it. If I fail to reach fatigue next time I hang I then will probably resort to this practice of hanging.

Thanks base,I see your point.So go to full fatigue and back off on the weight,say 1/2 pound per set.Would it be ok to keep a golf weight on all day so it don’t turtle?

I don’t think you can really just do it mathematically. Hang what your body tells you to hang. Push until you can tell you’re working, but then back off as needed. I.e. Back off as much as you need to.

But, when working towards new maximum weight, things like that.. don’t add more than 1/2lb increments to be safe… unless you’re working with over 15 to 20lbs & have lots of hanging experience, you need to be cautious about increasing too much too soon. Make absolutely sure to get fatigue early; ideally by your second set. Then in subsequent sets, reduce weight as needed, by feel.

I think a rule of thumb I’ve heard about hanging is that you want at least 10 hours a week of strapped in hang time. 10 hours = 30 sets @ 20 minutes. I’ve also heard that a lot of hangers don’t gain much at all until they work up to 10lbs+. Don’t forget—don’t increase weight and number of sets in the same week.

That’s up to you, but if you’re already hanging 10 hours+ a week & getting good fatigue, you’ll have to judge for yourself whether an ADS is hurting or helping. Just don’t push too much too soon… I don’t think it would hurt to hang and ads both if you do it responsibly, with slow increases. But I don’t think it’s necessary unless you’re having trouble getting enough hang time. (for example, if you don’t have enough private time, then that makes sense.)

I’m still making my hanger so I ant started hanging yet but will be soon.Thanks for all the advise so far.I have been using a stretcher with hardly any rill results.

to mosty lostracco and hobby, but also to everyone else:

I am thinking the same way like hobby and lostracco because I experienced a nice gain while PEing 2 1/2 hours a day (from this time there were 2 hours of hanging) AND wearing an ADS what goes in the same direction like a long hanging day.
The gains decreased for 1/3 inch since I was unfocused the last year.

But anyways, the point of my post is that i have a question, especially for lostracco:

You hang a lot AND you talked about the penis feeling like plastic. I also experienced this and for me the penis didn’t recover and gain back all its former SENSITIVITY over the time. So on a scale from sensitive to plastic with 0 being sensitive and 100 being plastic I went from 10 to 40 I would say.

Would you say that it is a loss of sensitivity you experienced?

I’d like to ask if anyone has ever used some sort of anaesthesia to prevent the pain during hanging?. The tissues are getting really swelled up after 2 hours of hanging and the next day it’s hard to hang even 1 hour.

Sounds like bad raping technique,you also mite try some lotion after your work out.Some thing with vitamin E.

Pain is your friend. Never ever try to dull it down artificially. Often times it is the only thing telling you where you are going and warning you to not kill your dick.

What tissues? You mean your foresking at the hanger attachment point? Or is it more deeper tissues there?

If it is a skin issue, check your wrapping. What sort of wrap do you use? Bandage and theraband or just one or the other? How much of each?

If it is a tunica or ligs soreness… Good going. When you feel it getting sore while hanging, drop weight until you are at the edges of it and keep dropping it to keep there until you reach your daily hanging time. If you can’t hang anything and it is just sore no matter what you do REST.

I’ve read about guys that completely punish their dicks… jelquing as hard as they possibly can/ doing 3hr workouts. Its usually not hangers doing that tho.. long workouts yes/ going nuts no… increasing the weight gives me more than enough strain…

Are you sure I wrote that? I can’t find the source of the quote. Assuming I wrote that, this is most likely what I was trying to describe:

To some extent, riding the fatigue & using split sets daily means you’re never letting yourself completely heal (keep re-creating microtears, creep, deformation, and generate mitosis). Of course your penis will get stronger with continued, consistent PE—it’s just a byproduct of the process and not the primary goal. However, if we don’t induce enough fatigue to cause microtears & deformation, we might just end up strengthening our penis vs making it bigger.

More accurately, maybe the quote should state: insufficient fatigue to cause deformation might possibly make our penis stronger instead. It’s just speculation.
