Why we don't gain from hanging

Why we don't gain from hanging

As I sit here hanging I am wondering why it is that some people just don’t gain from hanging? I’d like to see if we can possibly compile a list of reasons that people may feel they did not gain from hanging. What are some contributing factors to not gaining. From what I’ve learned so far a lack of consistency is one reason. Others may be using too light of weight, not doing enough sets, not exhausting enough angles.

So what else could contribute?

If you have done some heavy manual stretching exercises or use an extender, you may have already gotten all your easy lig gains.

I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work. Thomas Edison (1847-1931)

So if you’ve already gotten your easy lig gains, what should you do?

Although I am not a seasoned hanger, however from what I have read once lig gains have been maxed its time to focus on tunica stretches. Methods for this are using fulcrum hanging, over the shoulder and others which I have yet to still try out.

05/12/2005 : BPEL: 6.1"x EG:5.5" Current as of : 24/12/2011 : BPEL 7.87" x EG: 6.3" Long term Goal 8.5"x 6.4"

" There is only one option success; for failure is the refusal to persist"

From my experience so far: Lack of consistency is the only limiting factor I can really believe. Try and try again, and something just has to give.

If someone is working hard, and not getting anywhere, then lack of an ads might be the problem. I’m starting to believe hanging, and a light ads might go hand in hand together.

I'm consistent in spurts, but gains are undeniable!

2007: BPEL 5.5" / MSEG 4.7" / BG 5.5"

2017: BPEL 6.8" / MSEG 5.3" / BG 6"

Overwork - too much time and/or weight.

Defiantly being inconsistent, For example I hung for 2 months and had great fatigue ever day with only 1 set of 45 minutes to 1 hour. I stopped for close to 2 weeks and when I began hanging again it took me a few weeks and hanging 2 sets a day to reach the seem fatigue that I got quite quickly before.

Kimc, were you gaining during that 2 months of easy fatigue? Is it possible that you needed some rest in order to grow and then only once you’d grown was it harder to get fatigued?

How do you know when your lig gains have maxed out?

Yeah I gained for the first time hanging. No I honestly think the rest set me back and it was so much harder to get fatigue again. I’m not saying I won’t need rest one day but at the moment ill take no rest days and see how it goes.

I’m getting great fatigue at the moment form 2 sets of 45 minutes, 1 set AM and 1 set PM. I also just received the biggest weight for the autoxsleeve from monkeybar a couple of days ago and using that after a session for a a while seems to keep the fatigue longer.

Anyone know how to tell if your lig gains are maxed out?

I have no idea. The LOT theory might be the closest bet to guessing about ligs. I have not gained from hanging in a long time either guys.

Hey Iron. So have you made any recent gains lately? And if so, what were they from?

I thought the lot theory had been considered null and void.

What angles have you tried with hanging?

Gosh man I have tried all of them I think. I am trying hard to stick to the TGC theory or TCG, Can’t ever remember the order. But that test says my smooth muscle is the limit and is why hanging does almost nothing for me now. I gained close to an inch and a half over my PE career however. Still it isn’t enough to me.
