CGchase.

I’ve had a look at Picturebright’s site and the brass pump could only be used with a gauge if there was a dual connector available.

There doesn’t seem to be one and it would be very clumsy in use if there was.

I think your best best best (if you must have a gauge - and it should be must!))would be to buy a gauge from them . If you can get the heavy duty model as it’s only approx $1 more and use that with your cylinder.

It would be better and safer in the long run.

Psst! The link is at the bottom of the page :bigwink:

Well, on the pump there is a 2nd opening, like for another cord or something.

It could be for an add on gauge, or for an add on buddy to share the experience. :)

I think your best bet is to contact Picturebright, and see whether they have any add-on gauges which could be of use to you. Or other alternatives maybe.

Get a pump with a gauge as soon as you can, especially if you are a newbie. (In fact I would wait to pump until I had a pump with a gauge)

I highly recommend you get the BRAKE BLEEDER & VACUUM PUMP KIT from HarborFreight Tools:

Harbor Freight Tools – Quality Tools at Discount Prices Since 1977

It is $19.00 — I have it and it is great.

You will see on the picturebrite site that they sell this exact same pump for $30.60 (P131 - Hand Grip Pump w/guage). I have seen other pumping sites sell it for $60.00 and up.

Hopefully you will have a Harbor Freight store near by your house. That would make it easy and a real bargain for you. You could pump today!

I don’t have a Harbor Freight store nearby, so I mail ordered mine from the HF website and used the standard First Class Mail shipping option. It took a full 10 days to get it. If you phone the order in, they have other faster shipping methods. You may have to balance out cost though, it could be cheaper and faster just to order from Picturebrite.

I second Sta-kool, but keep in mind that the one thing that the Harbor Freight does not have is the male adapter to plug into the cylinder. You will have to move that from your current brass pump to the Harbor Freight pump.

Or, you could order a new male end from www.McMaster.com - part number 5012K251.

(Hold onto the current brass pump, by the way - it could be useful to you in the future should you decide to try water pumping.)

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.
