Lap pump = harbor freight tools pump

Works great.

I finally got the pump I ordered from Harbor Freight, and it is in fact the same pump as the lapdist pump. These guys have the slowest shipping I have ever experienced. I received the pump on the very last day of their 15 working day allowance and that is to cover the distance between California and Arizona.

Back on page 2 of this thread, I also corrected a couple of McMaster PN’s for couplers and tubing that I got wrong the first time. Hopefully they are correct now, but still do your own checking to make sure before you order from McMaster.

Good luck - you are saving a ton of money, it should be worth the wait.

From the notes I have been taking all that is needed to make a homemade pump is:
(For the sake of putting everything in 1 post)

1. Harbor freight tools pump Harbor Freight Tools – Quality Tools at Discount Prices Since 1977

2. Male coupling to attach to the pump
IE: McMaster-Carr Quick disconnect male fitting PN: 5012k251 $1.42

3. A cylinder…
constructed of McMaster-Carr Polycarbonate cylinder material 1.75" ID, PN: 8585k18 @ $7.00/ft
or (for a larger cylinder) Polycarbonate cylinder material 2" ID, PN: 8585k46 @ $8.19/ft
the cylinder material would be cut to the right size and then a top would be made for one end (but how and out of what material??) and then the Quick disconnect female fitting with shut off valve PN: 5012k29 $6.74
would be attached to the top (but by what means?).

rage - I bought a polycarbonate sheet and cut it with a hole saw to cap the end.

Man, what would I have to do to get a set in Hong Kong. Obviously the price of lapdist is way too expensive for me. But also considering I am a first time pumper, I am a bit confused with all the separate parts and stuff etc. Is there even delivery to Hong Kong?

I found a few of these brake bleeder kits on ebay too.

Are most of you guys buying the cylinders from pet stores that are made for fish tanks? Can you find the female threaded parts you need at local stores like Auto Zone?

I have one of the fish tank vacuum cylinders from Petco. I never really was happy with the entry end, ended up flairing it under heat, and that made it tolerable.

I just read the other day about Plasti-dip, and just so happens that I have been experimenting with black and white Plastidip to make an oversize ring fit properly.

I used it on the cylinder…I got to tell you, ITS FRIGGIN GREAT!!!!!

I do think the white works better than the black, seems to hold up much better. If you are going to use it, you only have to wait 20-30 minutes to add another coat.

Build up the lip as thick as you want, I found it not only made it super comfortable, it also acts as a cock ring around my shaft base and makes pumping work even better!

After you put on as many coats as you think you need, let it dry overnite to make sure it is totally cured before you use it. It shrinks quit a bit when dry, but you can always add a few more dips if you want to.

Make sure you clean it well with soap and water and dry it before you add any coats after you have used it. If this holds up well to use, I will probably make a thread on it so others can see it easily.

ps I bought a Harbor Freight pump for $16.99 at the store, great solid pump!

Is the harbor freight tools pump any better than the Mighty Vac II? Is there any significant difference between the two (I mean are they both pretty much interchangeable)?

I might buy a backup, thats a good deal.

Still on sale. Just got one for that price.

Can’t tell from the picture, does it have a safety pressure release valve? I use mine often to decrease pressure when it becomes to much.
