Pain while pumping...cylinder size?

Pain while pumping...cylinder size?

Greetings,

So, I finally bought the parts for a pump and got it all assembled today. I am using a break fluid pressure kit with a gauge, and a 2” cylinder. I did my very first pumping session today, and was surprised to find that it was a bit uncomfortable / painful near the base of my penis. I did a nice long warm up and stayed at 5 HG for one ten minute set. It felt good, but not great, and mostly just uncomfortable near the base of my penis.

The manufacturer of the tube recommended that I use the next size up (2.25) but I went with the advice that was given here on TP and went with a 2.0. My penis fits in it , but touches the walls at spots even before I start pumping. My base girth is about 5.5 and the girth of my head is also about 5.5 when I kegel.

What do you think vets? Is the pain normal? Is it just because it was my first set ever? Should I go up a tube size? I read that I should use a cylinder that isn’t much bigger in diameter than my dick if I am going for length. I am a hair from 8” and would really like to finish my length before I go girth, so I am not quite sure what to do. Should I try the bigger size? Do you think it would help with the pain?

Also, I have been hanging for the past while, and have been getting descent gains from it (over .25 in the past 3 months). Has anyone experimented with pumping and hanging in the same routine? I usually do 3-4 sets at 6 lbs (1 set down, 2-3 SO) in the morning, and then again in the evening if I have time. I am not super into changing my routine right now, so I might just keep the pump as a sex toy until I hit my length goal, but either way I would like to deal with the pain issue.

Best wishes,
WF

Seems like you have a thin walled cylinder. Which one do you have? If it is thin, you can get a silicone sleeve on line to improve the comfort. Also, what is your base girth?

No, pain is not normal.

Drop the pressure. The majority of vets say pump between 2.5 to 5hg.

You are a newbie, so I don’t think you should pump at the max pressure most vets recommend.

Do your next workout at 2.5 or 3 and see how it goes.

Two questions

What’s the base of the cylinder like ? and did you use plenty of lube ?

Also if you’re touching the sides before you start then it will get tight.

Thank you all for your responses!

I will answer what I can…

Yes, I used plenty of lube, so no problem there.

My base girth is about 5.4-5.6 depending on how horny I am.

I just noticed that the inside of the cylinder has an inward flange at the mouth. It is actually quite pronounced, and I can definitely see how it could cause the irritation. This could very well be the problem. I bought the cylinder off of eBay, so I didn’t have a chance to inspect it before purchase. Thoughts on this?

DT: What do you mean by “thin walled”? I don’t see how the thickness of the cylinder wall could affect me in that way.

Thanks again guys.

Ok, follow up:

Just to be clear, the cylinder I purchased turned out to have both an inside and outside rim at the entry point so that the walls at the base look like a T all the way around. Is this normal? It seems like the inside rim should not be there, and that pumping would be a much more comfortable experience without it.

Advice would be great.

A thin wall cylinder has thin walls such that the edge of the cylinder wall is thin at the point it comes in contact with your fat pad so it “cuts” into the skin. Yours, however, has a T edge so it is not thin. The inward facing flange is probably causing the discomfort, especially if your base is “packing” the base of the cylinder.

1. You may be able to buy a silicone doughnut on line to fit over the T which would improve comfort, but the doughnut would also reduce the diameter of the base further which would constrict your base further but not with a sharp edge.

2. Get a new thick walled cylinder. I have seen some mentioned on here for under $50. Without the T, 2” should work fine for you.

DT: Thank you for the information! I appreciate it. While researching the issue I saw in one of your other posts that you recommended purchasing from ThickWall.co.uk. I think I will give one of their cylinders a try. But, just to be sure, if I purchase from ThickWall the cylinder entrance walls will be parallel and without any kind of rim?

Thanks again,
WF

That’s what all their standard cylinders are like, highly recommended.

You guys rock. Thanks a ton.
