What type of pumping pressure are you using during these longer sessions Ray? Sorry if you mentioned it already.


Starting: 6 7/8 EL X 4.8 EG (estimated since I didn't measure)

Current: 8.5 EL X 5.5 EG

Goal: 8.5 X 6.25

I start off mellow, and I’m going full vacuum after 10 minutes of warming up and about 5 minutes of pumping. Never put myself in pain, but I definitely would not recommend it to anyone who hasn’t been pumping for at LEAST six months. Extended time at high vacuum definitely has potential for injury, and trashed EQ. I keep an eye on my “corona” area and quit if I see the beginnings of a “donut”.

Anyone know of the bathmate folk are still around here?

You mean that factory rep guy? I don’t know. I think at this point Bathmate should probably sponsor me! The measuring sticker on the outside of my pump is falling apart at this point.

I’m still at 5 1/2” if I haven’t pumped in a couple days. I can get a temporary pump size of 6 1/4” after pumping, but it doesn’t last more than an hour. and just a couple weeks ago I hit an all time post session girth record of 6 9/16”. Which is a mind blower when you see it.

raybbbaby, what is it about “the donut” that makes you want to avoid it so much? I would think it’s just edema, and I don’t see why edema would inhibit PE progress. Of course, avoiding overtraining while not undertraining is basically the name of the game in PE, and I understand that. I just wondered what it is about edema that makes you associate it with overtraining.

I’m of the opinion that the “donut” is a physical display or symptom of over training. It is only edema, and it is pretty easy to deal with. But once it appears, that is a sign you should back off. I don’t get one at the ten minute mark, or the twenty minute mark. Now really, twenty minutes is the max time Bathmate recommends to stay under vacuum. But if there’s no sign of having exceeded your level of conditioning, i.e. a “donut”, I go for another ten minutes. No donut after that, I’ll go again. But once edema appears, it’s time to get your penis out of the vacuum. I have done sessions of up to fifty minutes before a donut appears, that is what resulted in the 6 9/16” measurement, and there is no donut in that picture. Basically, right now I am pumping right at what I consider the limit of my conditioning. And I know I have passed it when the edema starts.

Ray, even though the bathmate instructions say 20 minutes, I too go for 30 minutes. I like to think of the first 10 minutes as a warm up, so in my mind, I’m actually only getting 20 minutes vacuum at full erection. I have yet to get a donut. I guess I have a tough dick, lol.

Just wondering, not critizicing. Why are you going on high pressure when everyone else states that the way to pump is low pressure for long term gains? (example thread here: Vacuum Pumping 101)

So do you stay in the pump for 30 minutes nonstop or keep doing 10 minute sets. Im confused

I stop to measure, check for the donut, and then pump back up. It’s pretty much constant pumping, with maybe a minute out to measure and refill the tube with warm water.

I got you, thanks. Im fairly new to pumping. I probaly been pumping every other day for 15 minutes for about a month and a half. 6 months total for PE. I have not seen any gains with the bathmate so far and been getting the same post pump measurements. I jelq and stretch along with pumping. Do you think I should be pumping more maybe add a couple more sets on pump days or just ride it out with this routine for awhile. You seem have a good amount of experience with the bathmate so I would like to hear what you think

Hmm, for some reason I’m hesitant to push advice on anyone. But if you’re not gaining even a little, I’d switch something around. Maybe just add some more jelqs. I would probably up my manual exercises, and add maybe 5 minutes to your time spent in the pump. I’m sure you’re smart enough to know not to suddenly jump from 15 minutes pumping to 40 or 50. But I bet you can move the “volume” of work/pumping in your workout up a bit and not suffer a loss of EQ. Be aware of your physiological indicators, and never try to “tough it out” through a session or exercise that has become uncomfortable.
