So about 6 weeks ago I got myself a Bathmate hydro pump. I have never air-pumped before, so I don’t have that as a frame of reference. I started PE around 4 years ago, I think, not really sure. With an S.G. extender and a similar routine to the newbie routine, I gained 1 1/4” in just six weeks. And that gain seems to have been permanent. But my progress stalled out right after that, and at 7” non-pressed, I was pretty satisfied.

I don’t know what it was about the Bathmate that grabbed my attention, but I really liked the simple design, as well as the idea of pumping with my penis soaking in hot water. It just made sense to me I guess.

I’ve been really happy with it so far. At first I only used it every other day, paying attention to how it felt and just being very cautious, as there was a lot of people who were sure the lack of a gauge would lead to injury. As I got more comfortable and competent with it, I stated to use it every day, kind of thinking more workouts, more often would mean more gains. I got to where I tried two sessions in a day. And that was too much, it resulted in a bit of a donut, and a bunch of tiny red spots on the penis. Went away in about 24 hours after some vigorous massage.

After I took a couple days off, I came back to it, and got my best expansion ever. That got me thinking, maybe a day off, and just pumping every other day would actually bring the best results, and the most expansion. So I went to pumping only every other day.

It seemed to work OK, but I’m still not that sure it is the most effective schedule. So I’m going to try to keep track of my days on/off, and my expansion and how it is effected by the workout frequency. Hopefully this will make this thread a bit different than the other Bathmate threads. I love VVC’s and Shiby’s threads, but I want to contribute something more to the PE/Bathmate user community. And I think this will be pretty interesting.

So here’s my usual Bathmate routine. I do it lying in the tub, as I was too cheap to buy a strap. I actually really like doing it this way now, as weird as it was for me to take a bath, something I haven’t done in years.

So I run the tub about 1/2 to 3/4 full of water. I get in, kick back and stretch and warm up my penis for 2 to 5 minutes first. I’m still experimenting trying to figure out if I get better results going in totally flaccid, or just a bit chubbed up, or 80 to 90% erect. More often than not, I go in limp. Then I pump up. Usually three full pumps and I’m at full vacuum. Now, leaning back in the tub, the Bathmate protrudes up and out of the tub at approximately 45 degrees. And of course I can adjust this angle by sitting more or less upright or layed back in the tub. Once I’ve pumped up, I start the stopwatch. I shoot for 20 minutes, pumping up 3 times after the initial pump up. I was re-pumping every 5 minutes, Now I kind of go more by feel, and where I am in my kegel count.

Now the “Kegel count”, is my favorite thing about pumping in the bath. With the BM sticking up and out of the bathwater, I Kegel and hold it for a 1-Mississippi count. And when I flex, I watch and make sure I am flexing hard enough to lift the Bathmate tube. It probably only raises a few degrees, but I love the added resistance I get. That little muscle gets worked. I do a hundred one second flex and holds, and then when I hit a hundred, I flex and hold that hundredth rep for 10 full seconds. Don’t feel too bad if you can only get a couple hundred of these your first workout. It took me a few weeks to get to a point where I could do two hundred between my five minute “pump up” points. Now I can usually get nine hundred to a thousand of these per workout, though it sometimes pushes the workout to 21 or 22 minutes.

So, I think in terms of tracking how good my expansion is going, I’m going to keep track of the “In Tube Length” measurements I hit at every “pump up” point. Approximately every five minutes), and then maybe my right out of the tube, post pump flaccid girth. My three biggest post pump girths have been 5 3/4 inches at the mid-shaft, but I don’t hit that consistently. Like I said, that has only happened three times.

So today’s lengths were as follows;
Entry-170, first re-pump-180, second-185, third 190+. Post pump flaccid mid-girth of 5 and 5/8”.

Do you think the bath mate is worth it? I was thinking about getting one. I am a newbie to PE

I love mine. I don’t want to push you as a newbie in one direction or another. You will have no problem getting gains using the newbie program. Also, some techniques or equipment work better for some people and not for others. I sat on the fence for a couple months as to whether or not I should drop the $125 for another piece of PE equipment. But by my third use of the Bathmate, I was thinking to myself, Dude, you should have just gone for it, you’d now have been pumping for two months and three days, rather than just three days. I think this Saturday will mark six weeks for me, so I’m still just getting to where I would be. Of course if I had bought one, I would now be approaching four months of use, instead of two.

I’m following too. How are the temp gains?

It is definitely a well built, quality tool. My fresh from pumping flaccid girth was 5 5/8 inches, and a half hour later I got it hard just to see where that was at, and it was still 5 1/2” erect. Now, that was six hours ago, and I’d be hesitant to bet it would still be that thick. But all in due time I suppose. I need to put some stats in my profile. But I will state here that six weeks ago, on the pumps arrival, I was BPEL 7” by 5” MSEG. So even if that is, (and it probably is) just temporary, it is still freakin’ awesome.

Glad to hear you liked VVC and my thread. Hopefully you will have better luck for me with this device. For me, the problem lies with the lack of temporary expansion that I hear a lot about (probably the main reason why I have been discouraged with my BM now). I hear many folk gaining a temp gain of at least 0.5” EG. For me, I could only gain at least 0.25” and that was pushing it. I would have to really pump it to receive that sort of gain, but, my EQ would suffer big time and I would not be able to get fully hard prior to sex (at least 1” sorter EL) and that temp gain would only last a few hours. Over the period of a few day I just couldn’t handle it. I would have to drop the pressure to a point where It felt comfortable but I just would not get any expansion for weeks, did not get a good flaccid hang either.

So I have now decided to ditch my BM for the time being and buy a traditional pump. At least I know I can’t go wrong knowing that I have a gauge. After following up on the pumping 101 thread, my plan, is to pack my first traditional 2” cylinder, have a good idea what 5hgs of pressure feels like and then move back to my BM (2.5” cylinder).

Hopefully, this will all fall into plan.

After reading around at all the positive threads I have seen. I have come to the conclusion that only men who have been successful in the years of PE that has been able to build up a resistance from clamping and pumping will be able to gain very easily with this device.

I realised this after re-reading my thread which had a conversation with a man from another PE website who had gained a solid 1.25” EG. I had asked him before Christmas how much experience he had with PE as I was having little luck with the BM. He told me he had 3 years of clamping. Looking around the other successful stories, most men have reported many years of clamping behind the belts o other strenuous routines.

Knowing that the max pressure of the bathmate is 11.8hgs, it is starting to make sense to me now. Perhaps Big Girtha might be able to take his monstrosity girth to another level.

Can I ask how you are doing your routine with the BM to get that good expansion that I crave for?
• Do you pump down every 5 minutes?
• Do you pump until no more water comes out every time you pump?
• Is it comfortable/do you get the ring at the base?

Hmm, let’s see, Every five minutes or so, I pump the BM a time or two, taking it back to full vacuum, I think of that as pumping up, and I do it without releasing the valve if I can avoid it. At first I was pumping til no more water came out, and I still shoot for that on my last two (10 minute and 15 minute) pump ups. But I just pump til I feel a good expansion on my first couple. I get a little discomfort, and some “ring around the penis” from the bellows. It never lasts for long, and doesn’t cause me enough discomfort to discourage me from continuing to pump.

Today’s ITLMs were 1.-150, 2. 170, 3. 180, 4. 185
My post pump MSG was 5 3/4” on immediate exit from the tub, but it had already shrunk to 5 1/2” by the time I got toweled off and was ready to put pants back on.

Pumped again today. Definitely time for a day off tomorrow. I didn’t do my usual 900-1000 kegel flexes, as I figured two days in a row was plenty. Also, I just kind of pulled outward on the BM a few times for 30 seconds at a pop, thinking that might encourage length. I broke the vacuum seal a time or three doing that, and had to re-establish a seal and pump back up, which kind of threw off my pump up every five minutes routine. Fortunately, it worked out for me, by the ten minute mark I was at 180, and I really thought today would be the day I hit 200. It didn’t happen, but I was at 195 for the last 5 minutes, and it didn’t feel uncomfortable. I took a while before I got my post pump flaccid girth, and that said it was only 5 1/4 inches, and even though I had been out of the pump for 5 minutes at that point, I was kinda bummed. Layed down and made myself get hard to measure my erect girth and see if it would stay at 5 1/4” or be smaller, and it was actually at 5 1/2 inches! When I started PE way back when, and I was 6”x5”, my goal was to be 7”x5 1/2”. It’s strange to be looking at an erection that is the ideal size you were shooting for. I know that size is just temporary, post pump dimensions, but I’m still plenty excited.

Do you at all pump beyond your BPEL. If so by how much if you don’t mind me asking :) for me it starts to hurt when I get up to my EL or just 0.25” past it. So far the most comfortable is around 0.5”/0.75” below my EL. Anything else and it starts to become a bit numb.

Well, I don’t know, I’ve never measured the tube against an actual ruler. Maybe I should, that’s interesting.

I took yesterday off. This morning’s session was weird, I only got 700 Kegels in, and had some trouble with the tube coming unsealed. It was pretty weird. I think it started at about 150 or 160, finished at just shy of 190, and I hit 5 3/4” girth right out of the tube. So that was cool. I’m off to the gym.

To answer Shiby916, as best as I can tell, the only time I’m getting around the same length in the tube as my BPEL is the last 10, probably really only the last 5 minutes of my session. I’m not sure how my ruler would line up with the guide on the BM tube, as you would have to account for the bellows, which can compress and expand quite a bit. I’d say I get a bit of discomfort, I don’t know if I’d go so far as to call it pain, when my pumped length is reaching those big numbers an pushing the limits of my length. Anyways, today’s session got interrupted. I ended up going back for 5 minutes a bit later, but it’s just not the same as 20 minutes straight under vacuum.

Today’s ITLM were 150, 170, 180, 185. And I forgot to get a fresh out of the tube girth measurement, but I doubt it would be any bigger than yesterday’s.

Hmm interesting raybbaby. I seem to get up or even just past my EL after my second pump (10 minutes). But I have been taking it slower now. I tried what you did and have 3 full pumps and left it. It worked quite well. For me, I used to pump at least 7-8 little pumps to get all the water out.

What I am trying to do now is reach my EL on the last 5 minutes in the tube. If it becomes sore or numb I just release the pressure until it’s comfy again. Which I never used to do. Thanks to sparky I have realised that in the pump, at your EL, is a greater volume over all than pre-pumped. After some fiddling around. I think when I pump up to 6” (using a ruler) is the same penis volume as my 7x5… . If that makes sense.

I’ve got to hand it to you mate. Your thread has made me pick up and start using my BM again.

When pumping the last 5 minutes till no water comes out and reaching my BPEL I always get a donut and these tiny red spots. Is this bad or too much? Should I stop before? If I go full vacuum, I get a much better flaccid hang afterwards with about +0.5” girth.
