My bloodwork from the hospital came back with my kidney GFR rate at 78 mL/min. A few weeks prior it was 89, and before that - one year ago - it was ~110 - this is concerning as a 27-year-old, and very concerning when I consistently see bubbles in my urine… I really hope my kidneys are not going, as I have also been losing hair as mentioned previously. My anion gap also came back at 6 on a reference of 5-17 - low anion can indicate kidney problems as well.

Blood glucose also came back at 111.

Either way, again, trying to maintain a level head throughout all of this. Still bleeding when I pass stools as well.

They wouldn’t have let you out of the hospital if your kidneys were failing and if they were at all concerned they would have told you to see a nephrologist. Keep looking you’ll find something.

You previously indicated you were a heavy drinker. Cutting alcohol intake can positively impact kidney function, as well as monitoring your protein and salt intake.

I believe you, but that’s not to say things are declining. I just signed up to view the bloodwork done by the hospital and the one thing that is sticking out is a dangerously close kidney disorder.

My bloodwork from the hospital came back with:
- my kidney GFR rate at 78 mL/min. A few weeks prior it was 89, and before that - one year ago - it was ~110 - this is concerning as a 27-year-old, and very concerning when I consistently see bubbles in my urine… I really hope my kidneys are not going, as I have also been losing hair as mentioned previously.
- My anion gap also came back at 6 on a reference of 5-17 - low anion can indicate kidney problems as well.

- Blood glucose also came back at 111, as well as LDL cholesterol a few weeks ago around 111, which was high. I’ve had borderline high blood pressure the past few visits, and am reading that can impact kidney function negatively.

Again, the main things sticking out here are:
- declining kidney function (78 eGFR (<60 is chronic kidney disorder) and 1.13 creatinine (high range 1.18 and low is .73))
- accompanied with semi-high blood pressure (144/76)
- slightly elevated blood sugar at 111 (though that varies and has come back normal at times)
- slightly elevated LDL cholesterol (which may be causing the high blood pressure and decreased kidney function), as well as borderline low Anion (6 - lowest is 5 on the reference range) - also pointing to a decline in kidney function.

Neutrophils also came back high at 78% and Lymphs came back low at 14% - not sure what those mean though.

Edit: high neutrophils usually indicate a bacterial infection in the body. Low lymph at 14% also indicates a body having more difficulty fighting infections.

If there is a bacterial infection in the prostate, it might cause the rectum to tighten towards the opening, which is where I’m having the most pain/stinging when passing stool and the blood associated with it. I have never had my semen analyzed, only urine.

Either way, again, trying to maintain a level head throughout all of this. Still bleeding when I pass stools as well.

Any young guy that is that worried over his health really should go and see a therapist. IT IS NOT NORMAL!

I am in therapy. None of what I have laid out here is chaotic or indicative of someone who is somehow “off-kilter” mentally. Maybe you’re turned off by how much research I’ve done on this, but the reality is, my findings are logical and they DO point to a potential kidney problem, which I believe is caused by high-ish LDL cholesterol or high blood pressure. Maybe pre-diabetes from the blood glucose coming back at 111 but I doubt it because it has come back normal around 70/80 some of the time.

Look at my bloodwork in the last post and tell me I am normal.

I am also aware that the antibiotics I’ve taken more than likely damaged my kidneys, so there is no argument there and there’s simply nothing I can do to change that.

Just admit that I am doing way more work than anyone else on this forum in trying to figure this out and honestly I’m doing it because - as mentioned - I DO NOT FEEL RIGHT.

Recurrent blood in stool - serious issue.
High blood pressure 144/79 - potentially serious issue
Heavy alcohol intake - serious issue
Declining GFR - problematic at the least
Multiple other out of range blood tests

Yep, you have multiple things to be concerned about, and in my opinion the blood in the stool is the most serious.

I’d also recommend you stop posting about this and let the doctors find out what your problem(s) are. We are not doctors, nor do we play one on the internet. But we can certainly google the shit out of everything and find out you can have everything from a hangnail to advanced scoliosis, and none of which will give you any comfort or peace of mind.

Thanks yeah, I won’t post anymore until I have a definitive analysis and/or answer.

Per your note, the alcohol has been severely cut back - so has the nicotine (none) and weed (twice in the past 4 weeks - even then it was just a small hit of a bowl). Again, these are my efforts towards minimizing my usage severely and I’m doing it alongside a licensed psychologist (my therapist, too - she is awesome).

I will leave with this:
- hemorrhoids are NOT always felt with a rectal exam/finger. I do not see any other reason why I’d be passing small amounts of red blood, however, I am lost as to why the hemorrhoids flare up after masturbating (at least in my case). Again, I have not had a doctor tell me they’ve felt a hemorrhoid yet, so I am assuming that is the only logical explanation here.

The only other thing I can think of is that I ate about a half-pound of swiss cheese a few days prior (with meat), but even then I had no bleeding until a few days later when I masturbated. I was a little constipated, but there was no blood until masturbation prior. The first time I masturbated in a while, there was a lot of blood the following day, and then the day after I went to the ER with more blood (this past Friday), but again, the doc did not tell me he felt a hemorrhoid and the CT scan showed no signs of colon cancer.

Either way, hoping to get this figured out and I appreciate all the help thus far. The kidney thing is freaking me out, but I’m thinking of cutting caffeine (I drink one medium-sized coffee/day in the morning with food) to try and lower blood pressure, which I’m hoping will help the kidney/cholesterol issue coupled with more water and general “best-health” practices.

Dude, you are not a doctor and doing research on your tests can’t give you clarity. You can inform yourself, but doctors rely on science and pattern and the curve. A doctor can read your levels and say “you are low in this but that’s not a concern of mine because you are normal in these other things” so you can freak out over a “bad” reading but the doctor might not worry.

We are not doctors here (maybe a few members are, I’m not talking about them). You can’t expect us to weigh in on your homework; if we ask you questions its not because we’re “turned off by how much research” you’ve done on this. Kudos to you for trying to know! But I don’t think members on this forum are telling you what they are telling you because they are jealous of your research.

I looked at your bloodwork and I can’t weigh in if you are normal or not. What is normal anyway? Again, its up to a doctor to determine health and normalcy.

So no recommendation for a colonoscopy? CT scans work great (I know, my wife’s done more CT and PET scans than we like to admit to for past cancer screenings to see if cancer came back) but honestly a colonoscopy is the best way to know what’s going on inside you. The camera sees everything! I just had one a few months ago and it was perfectly fine. I’d be shocked if a doctor didn’t recommend you for a colonoscopy, seems like with so much frequent passing of blood they’d want to see with the camera.

Yep, my GP referred me to a gastro that I’ll be seeing on Dec 10th. I’d like to get in sooner if possible though. It is up to the gastro to determine whether or not I’ll be scoped, but I can’t imagine I wouldn’t be. I would certainly like to be scoped to see what the hell is going on because it’s happening almost every time I pass a stool now, and it is more blood than before (hence the reason for getting freaked out last Friday and going to the ER). Even then, the doc did not feel anything with his finger.

I am not crazy dude, lol. When you’re bleeding out of your ass everytime you take a shit, and your toilet bowl looks like a sudsy bath everytime you take a piss in the morning, you should wonder, “hm, why’s that happening?” So I do things like read, talk to as many docs as I can, schedule as many appointments as I can, be as analytical as I can, and try to find an answer…

Godforbid it is colon cancer (I doubt it because the CT scan showed nothing), at least I’ll have caught it early…

I have seen you before many times in the PE world. Oh you had a different name and were on different forums, some that no longer exist but it was you; actually someone like you and there were many through the years.
The come to these forums with a problem that they diagnosed themselves and a possible solution for their issue. You see even though they go to doctors a lot they really don’t like them because they don’t tell guys like you what you want to hear. You see they tell you there is nothing wrong but you know there is.
How many docs have you seen and has anyone given you any diagnosis or treatment to cure what you know you have? Not a one.
Guys like you after your solution to your issue which was taking an unneeded antibiotic then switch to something else. You started off with the dirty girl and a whole list of symptoms that only your antibiotic could cure.No antibiotic cures hard flaccid, low libido, hydrocele and a tight stomach but with you all that got cured after your shot.Actually you were perfect 24 hours later.
When that wasn’t getting much traction you went on to this mysterious biofilm in your bladder. Hey I got to give you credit for that one; that was cool. Then you went to an inflamed prostate and from there you blamed the antibiotics that you took as your cure for your condition.

From there we went to bubbly urine, then your semen color wasn’t want you thought it was, then masturbation causes blood to come out of your ass and now you have failing kidneys. Now your back to a prostate infection causing your ass to tighten and hurt when you take a crap, Oh I did read something about kidney cancer or some type of cancer you think you may have.

If you think I get happy telling a guy he’s nuts and needs lots of therapy you are so wrong. No doctor, no hospital has seen anything wrong or anything to treat. You said you don’t feel good; the word “feel” is a very subjective word. It comes from your brain which is where most if not all of your problems come from.

As many guys like you before you arrived and many will be here after you’ll hang around here until enough people say, like the doctors, there is nothing wrong. You’ll get mad, hate a guy or two and then leave and before you know it there will be another just like you.
You need psychiatric treatment to even think about putting on the road to recovery and you will need it for years.Even that might not cure you but it will help you out.
You’re a young guy and you’re wasting your life. Go get treatment before you are so far gone nothing will help. If you don’t then be resigned to be just he way you are foerever and that is a waste of life.
