I've cured my premature ejaculation

I’ve had it checked. Not since about 2 years ago. But I am scheduled to have blood work before my next appointment later this month. It has always fluctuated from as low as 486 all the way up to 1157.

Planning on doing 10mg a day every day, taking it around 1pm each day around lunch and then go home home have sex with my wife at night to see how it works.

I will be seeing the doc some time over the next week or so. I will find out what the time frame will be for going back on the Paxil if my prem ejac comes back.

Good plan you have there, stick with that dosage for a good 3 weeks and let us know how you get on. Remember the best results kick in after about 3-4 weeks. (see the study GottaB8 posted earlier)

The only difference I’ve noticed with Wood is the following.

Without Paxil - I can get horny and fully errect in a matter of seconds…. say 10-15 seconds to go from completely flacid to fully errect. Then after ejaculating I would go from completely errect to completely flacid in less than a minute.

With Paxil - I get horny and my wood builds more slowly, taking probably a whole minute to get completely errect. However once completely errect the wood is as good as usual.
The strange thing is that after ejaculation, the woody takes a long time to dissipate, probably about 10-15 mins to get flacid again.
It stays 80-90% errect for a good 10 mins. This is how I discovered that on Paxil, I could cum several times in a row without losing my errection. Very strange but it somehow messes with the refractory period, making it shorter and since you’ve got most of your errection, you can just start pounding away again and you’ll cum again. It doesn’t happen every time.
Sometimes I’ll wait 5 mins then start banging again. Other times I’ve wiped the cum off my dick and then stuck it straight back in and kept on pounding. If I choose not to go again it’s because the rest of my body is too tired (especially now that we have sex for over an hour now) Losing the errection after ejaculating is no longer the show-stopper it used to be.
Multiple orgasms I suppose…

A good way to increase testosterone herbally is standardised nettle root extract. It halps to raise free T levels.

What is your experience with nettle root?

Interview your doc about this. From what I’ve heard, the standard treatment for depression is 6 months the first time (6 months use after depression has vanished, that is), second time 6-12 months and if you get depressed a third time you might consider using it for many years, to keep the chronic depression at bay. Some people use SSRIs for life (“Listening to Prozac”, Peter Kramer) both for depression and as a way of having a happier life - what I call treating one’s “cognitive diabetes” - so obviously it doesn’t have to be 6 months only.

I understand your doctor wanting to play it safe, but get his version of what gives, will you?

I can’t speak from experience with nettle root, other than what I’ve read about it on the web. I have ordered some and it arrived the other day. But I ordered it for my wife, thinking that if I increase her free ‘T’ levels, it will increase her libido.
So I’ll let you know how it goes, from that perspective.

Hey MGUS, I’ve lowered my dosage and the prem ejac is coming back already. I’m on less than 5mg per day now and I’ve had sex twice recently and both times were less than 10 mins. Shortest sessions in a long time.

I’m a bit gutted to see that the Paxil will have to be a permanent part of my life at least until they come up with a better cure.

The downsides of taking Paxil for me have been.
1. Getting tired more easily, not doing so well in sports and lifting weights, generally just slightly physically weaker and slightly less endurance in sporting activities.
2. Not being as mentally sharp. I play chess a lot (daily) and while taking Paxil (6 months) my rating dropped from 1400 to about 1250. As soon as I started weaning off, I noticed an improvement in my concentration levels and my rating is already back up to 1400.

Although I must say that I have started taking large doses of fish oils as per Zane blues fish oil diet, during the weaning process. So I wonder if the increased concentration levels and chess ability is due to the fish oils, rather than the weaning off Paxil. hmmmmmm don’t know….

I guess I’ll find out as soon as I start the Paxil again. To be honest for me I’d rather be not quite mentally and physically as sharp, in exchange for the two hour long hot sex sessions.

Sex is number 1 for me, Sport and chess are a close 2nd, but they are 2nd.

KingG

Ya, I’ve noticed the fatigue and loss of mental sharpness also. Was a real chore to get through a workout in the first month or so. It’s since gotten better, but I’ve also started drinking more coffee during the day, and that has helped considerably.

Another bad part of the Paxil, I decide to miss a workout, I simply didnt give a fk, where normally I’d be pissed if I had to miss a workout.

Goes for PE too - religiously PE’d everynight prior to Paxil. Now I miss a night because I’m tired and it’s “Ah fk it, I’ll do it tomorrow…” Not sure which is “normal”…

And another thing I noticed and have since read about - weight gain.

I’ve put at least an inch on my waist since I started Paxil. And although it’s not listed as an “official” side effect, I see mention of it by many many people on Paxil. Go to your favorite seach engine and look up Paxil+weight+ gain

People report gaining weight even though they’re still exercising and watching their diet, seems like nothing they do can stop it, until they discontinue the Paxil, and the weight drops off.

I’m stopping the 10mg a day and will try single dosing apprx 4 hrs before game time, prob on the order of at least 20mg, and see what that does.

>>I’d rather be not quite mentally and physically as sharp, in exchange for the two hour long hot sex sessions.
I hear that, but I dont want to be fat either. It’d really suck having to choose, having had a taste of being sexually unstoppable.

What about your happiness and peace? You mentioned becoming more patient with your kids and more loving as a husband? Of course, this could have something to do with the two-hours love sessions… But have you noticed any other mental side-effects when weaning off?

My experience with fish oil is increased sharpness, mentally, by the way.

This article states:

Many people are not aware that weight gain is one of the most common side effects associated with many antidepressants prescribed today. In fact, medications such as Fluoxetine (Prozac®) and Buproprion HCL (Wellbutrin®) have actually been marketed for obesity treatment.

Antidepressants can affect weight in several ways:

* They may increase or decrease basal metabolic rate without changing caloric intake.
* They may affect hormonal changes and increase appetite.

The reason that SSRIs contribute to weight gain is not known. Although it was a widely held belief that drugs that increase serotonin output also decrease hunger, this does not seem to be the case. Patients using SSRIs often report symptoms of hypoglycemia (weakness, dizziness, frequent hunger, and headaches) when they do not eat. Symptoms of hypoglycemia may indicate hyperinsulinemia (elevation of insulin in the blood).

Paroxetine (Paxil®) appears to have the most significant impact on weight gain of all of the SSRIs. Studies show that patients using Paxil experience an increase in breast size as well as weight gain and increased serum prolactin. One case report linked cravings for carbohydrates with Citalopram (Celexa®) while other studies showed an average weight gain over time of 15-20 pounds with Sertraline (Zoloft), Fluoxetine (Prozac®), and Citalopram (Celexa®).

Man, how much does that suck? Anyone have any thoughts on how to get around this?

When I was on SSRI’s I gained weight. But then again I’d lost before getting on them - loss of appetite is a side-effect of depression, you know. So getting back to normal weight was not an issue with me. I went over my normal weight as well, but in both instances it coincided with life-style changes (driving to work, eating out) as well, and personally I attribute those changes to a bigger weight gain than I did the actual treatment.

Its seems contradictory. Causes weight gain and prescribed for obesity treatment?

Horny Bastard

>>Its seems contradictory. Causes weight gain and prescribed for obesity treatment?

Ya, but I think that’s related to those 2 meds cited, not Paxil and Zoloft… Or that in the past Drs Rx’d SSRI’s because they thought they caused weight loss and later found they did not.

Certain antidepressants are more likely to cause weight gain than are others. For example, tricyclic antidepressants and monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) are more likely to be associated with weight gain than are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). The exception to this may be long-term use of paroxetine (Paxil) — an SSRI that is more likely to cause weight gain than are other SSRIs.
