Para-goomba: Your observations about the average size in lifestyle is another thing that suggests to me that it was bone pressed.

I don’t think that we will ever know for sure, because the popular writing is too damn sloppy, and I have yet to find a copy of the actual research. I doubt I ever will. But everything leads me to believe that it was very likely bone pressed.

Kinda Off Topic — On the fat pad thing, I have noticed on Thunder’s that there doesn’t seem to be a strict 1 to 1 correlation between overall fitness and fat pad. Some lean guys report having a fat pad of one inch or more, some heavier guys report having a fat pad of 1/2 inch or less. It is weird sometimes how the body distributes fat.

Which proves the point as to why anything other than cold BPEL/ BPFSL may not be any manner of worthwhile benchmark.

This is murky grey area shit.
Go with the least grey shit you can find— BPEL, BPFSL— done and dusted.

Agreed - any other measurement than BPEL or BPFSL is meaningless for tracking PE length gains. And then you gotta be really consistent with how you measure those.
