Difference between edema and expansion

Hi guys,

Total newbie here.

I have read many times that edema is bad for PE so would really like to avoid it but being so new I have no idea what to be on the look out for. I’ve been trying out wet and dry jelqing and I seem to get a bigger looking unit with wet jelqs but I’m worried that it is only because my hand is sliding across the skin and causing edema rather than expansion.

Is someone able to explain what edema looks like? What are the signs that us newbies should be on the lookout for?

This is a pretty good question, I wouldn’t mind some specific things to look for that differentiate the two. Iam quite confident I can tell when it’s expansion and when it’s slight edema or both, but maybe some for sure things to look for would help.

Yes i would follow this topic also for clarification.

Fill a balloon full of water; now compress the balloon carefully and the area where the water is being pushed to is expanding.

Now put too much pressure on the balloon , not enough to break it but enough where water starts seeping through the very pores of the balloon and slowly leaks out. That’s edema. Very hard to get that water thats leaked out back in, especially with human tissue.

Pinch the skin. If the skin it’s thicker than usual, it is edema. A “donut” from pumping is an extreme example of this.

Feel the tunica below the skin. If the tunica and smooth muscle within it is thicker, it is expansion.

The problem with swelling outside the tunica is that it puts pressure on it but in the wrong direction. It pushes inwards, making it smaller. You want internal pressure pushing outwards, making it bigger.

Another thing to look for - does your penis still look veiny, or does it have a bloated soft fluid-swelling look.

For what it is worth I think it is extremely rare to get edema from jelqing. This is generally something you get from over-pumping or over-clamping.
