Need to quit porn... haven't been getting morning wood at all

I’ve put how I feel about porn in my progress report and it’s rather poisonous. I didn’t have EQ issues from it but instead I expected too much from my wife because of it. It can poison a relationship fast and then the real EQ issues will kick in. I hope you get it straightened out.

Definitely a real nuance. Porn can reinforce or establish new fetishes that are independent and/ or likely in opposition of your partners desires. Been there.

You can either take break to recover reaction, or try to increase intensity. Its not so uncommon for couple to have different levels of sexual desire. Sometimes woman is hungry and wanna have sex 3-5 times each day. Surely its hard for man to keep tempo up. But after some time it becomes like natural reaction and starts to get erection as by timer. And maybe not up to 30+times/week, but still significantly more than before.

That`s why if you feel you don’t have any urge after night, you might actually be interested to shorten recovery period than prolonging it for better sensations.

Is it really strange to people what I am describing? People are saying porn should not affect morning wood. But imagine if you watch porn and beat off 5 times in a day then go to bed, I would definitely not get morning wood because my sex drive is depleted. Would this happen to other people? If it was just beating off without porn or having sex with someone, it would not be as harmful to your sex drive but porn is a stimulus your brain can’t handle as well. I have the same problem than you, I’m addicted to porn, and is very hard to quit, I have not had an erection in the morning for months

I have never done that, but in my mind I need to quit porn anyway.

Even on the tiny off chance that it doesn’t affect my EQ during the night, I have for sure noticed an effect on my daily hang, confidence and mood. So I should quit for the boost in these. I am also almost certain that it does in fact affect my night/morning EQ because I remember waking up with semis in the past during times when I had gone without porn for a few days. Recently, I have been relapsing a lot in the past few weeks and there is a total lack of wood when I wake up.

Even if I am getting night wood while watching porn, I want to also quit so I get night AND morning wood. Any kind of wood is good for EQ and to bring circulation down there so more is better in general I am pretty sure.

Thanks for the response. I am realizing that some terms are somewhat confusing. The term nocturnal wood makes sense. However, does morning wood fall into the class of a nocturnal erection that you just woke up during, or does morning wood count as a daytime erection? I always thought of it as the first. For that reason, I assumed that since I was getting less morning wood, I was also getting less nocturnal wood. That is an interesting distinction, I didnt realize they were based on different mechanisms. However, doesn’t porn affect your physiology by depleting neurotransmitters, and possibly testosterone? I guess I am not sure if porn actually affects one’s testosterone. I am saying that I believe it may, which would then affect nocturnal erections. But I could be wrong.

Thank you so much for giving a sound explanation for testing for self to confirm that how to free from ED. I am able to get consistently strong erection at night that last for more that 15 mins. Usually I wake at night due to erection . I have observed that this nocturnal penile tumescence till early 20’s and after that rearly I had NPT. Now I am in mid early 30’s I had mild ED and by early 40’s I had severe ED. I read about food supplements about L arginine and L cirtuline with lysine helps you to overcome ED. I took these supplements daily 2 to 3 grams before bed preferably on empty stomach, so that I had light early dinner. Lysine I took in the morning 1gram on empty stomach with 1 Liter of lemon water. I also did moderate exercise daily about 20 to 30 mins of cardio vascular and yoga after taking lemon water.
Gradually My sex drive improved in 8months and I started to have NPT after 10 months and after 12 months NPT became consistent every night and strong. Penile girth also increased by 0.5 inch.

I saw this forum and I thought I’d toss two cents in to see if it would be any use to you. The biggest, and I do mean absolute biggest, problem I had with porn came down to plummeting dopamine levels. I noticed that whenever my dopamine levels started free falling my body would actually force me to watch porn or binge on salty or sugary foods. It wouldn’t let me sleep, think, or even enjoy food. I remember during the extremely bad parts, I lost all will to eat or move. Finding motivation was like trying to find water in a desert. The only thing I ever found which finally made it possible for me to make it through it all was Mucuna Pruriens. On a whim, I bought some of the powder from bulk supplements one night. When it arrived, I didn’t touch it for almost a week because I was so apathetic to life in general. When I finally got around to trying it, it was like someone gave color back.
