Need to quit porn... haven't been getting morning wood at all

Hey all,
I am a porn addict. I can’t use a little bit of porn and be ok with it, I will usually end up binging. Even when I watch porn for half an hour or so, I will not get morning wood for a few days and then it will come back weakly. But I need 90 days or so to reset my brain from porn fully. And I wonder how many people on Thunder’s are pornfree.

I feel like I have low-normal testosterone (not much body hair in my 20s, and I was a late bloomer). Either way, I don’t think I am the kind of person who can watch a bit and still pop morning wood. Maybe higher testosterone guys can but not me. I remember I have quit in the past for up to 90 days but I never kept it going forever. I would have better EQ in the morning when I was pornfree.

Anyone else watch porn and also not get morning wood? I’m quite sure the two are related. If you want maximal EQ, go full pornfree. Beating off is probably fine a few times a week but porn is the real damager of EQ. And if anyone else wants to go fully 100% pornfree, no images, not even a little bit, feel free to join me.

If you think you have low test, see a doctor and get tested. That is the only way you will know for sure.

In my humble opinion, porn wouldn’t affect night or morning wood, as those are involuntary processes. So maybe you should get your test levels tested.

2 years ago I was almost 8 month porn free, in the beginning is difficult, but after the 3rd week it becomes normal because you made a routine without it, so your brain adapt. Today I only download porn, I don’t see it, I really don’t like it anymore, I just download my preferred porn kind that is within my collection and then done. Yes it is kind of a cheat for someone who has a problem with porn and visual excitement. Now on May I am pretending to stop with it, do that routine again and stop with it, just because I am wasting my time watching other people having sex or searching through the web download links etc. It is not healthy, if you want to see my log on it next month go ahead. Low testosterone has nothing to do with it.

I will get checked but I don’t think I have low enough T for a doctor to do anything about it. Maybe on the low end, like 350 but you have to be below 300 to be considered actually low iirc. I am not depressed and I am not usually in a bad mood, or anything I would consider strange, since I know low T can affect mood. My frame is average but I have fairly low body fat and visible abs. I would say I have an average ability to build muscle. I believe these would be different if I had clinically low T.

I am less likely to get involuntary boners during the day if I used porn that day or the day before. Since nocturnal/morning wood is involuntary this would make sense to me if it reduced nocturnal/morning EQ. For sure I have experienced morning wood more on my 1 week+ streaks without porn. This could be related to my testosterone being higher due to lack of porn but I don’t think it is an inherent problem. More like porn induced erectile dysfunction. I would like to know if others have experienced similar.

Sta-kool, for you is morning wood constant no matter how much porn you watch? at least now a days, it is easy to see 5-6 different girls within 15-30 minutes which is often how I end up binging. I believe this would deplete dopamine more and damage morning wood EQ more than looking at a picture for a few minutes. So not all porn is equal in damage to EQ imo. I obviously want to quit it all though.

Stakool, just read some of your posts and saw you are doing hormone replacement. Wow it’s inspiring at least to see people making gains despite obstacles. I wanted to add that I would say I have a normal sex drive too. 2-3 days after quitting porn I start getting the daydreams back and thinking about girls I used to know and it gets kind of annoying, hard to focus on work, etc… which usually leads to a relapse. This is just to say another reason I wouldn’t say I have clinically low T.

Yes I noticed that, so i quit porn. So now i only watch porn the less posible and dont cum. My EQ is better than before. PE + Porn something happened to me, no erections at all. So I changed 2 days on and 1off and 0 porn.
Now my erections are much better (not hard rock yet) but much better!

Try “kasperski secure kids” app on your mobile and put a dificult password.
Put “k9” on your computer and do tge same.

Un both scenarios write a dificult pass (very hard to remember) and write it in a paper then put it somewhere. You won’t need after 21 days, then you’ll notice something!

I am in day 6 of no porn and something is happening!

Thanks all, for sure I want to quit totally. I have blocks on many sites on my computer so I don’t run into it but sometimes I still go looking for it after a week or so…Have been trying on and off to quit for at least 3 years and have made it to 90 days and even more about 2 years ago. Back then I spent less time on the computer and also shared a room with someone which made it easier to avoid “convincing myself” that I can watch some.

Now I spend more time on the computer for work as a necessity and also have my own room so tend to make excuses and convince myself it is ok, or I deserve it this time, and relapse. Obviously my mistake and I need to improve, made it for 30 days recently but relapsed again. Sometimes I feel like I just talk and plan a lot but then can’t actually make it.But nothing to do except figure out what went wrong and try again, at least I made it through today. Thanks for the support all.

Time away does help. To really come to dislike it is a big turning point. Your motivation for quiting is important. The more you see it for what it is, the less you’ll want to watch it, even when the urges hit.

Night in Morningwood is in voluntary so it has nothing to do with your mental state due to porn. If you get near a live woman and you don’t get turned on anymore then porn is a problem. Anything else is just guilt religion and bullshit telling you you should stop watching it.

Personally think that porn is not something so bad, but if you always see it at anytime, then is a problem too. (Thinking the steinroid said).

Actually as I see, you painjury have a psicological secondary gain wich means a covert reaction and can cause a loss of morning wood.

I cant express myself freely in english, i hope you understand what i mean. The thing is if you dont find wich is your psi secondary gain you wont quit porn easily.

ie. If you dont find why you see porn more than only the pleasure then youll relapse everytime. Even thinking in you will force.

Right, for sure the cons outweigh the pros, but sometimes my willpower isn’t perfect… I am good at resisting things like junk food and I have a healthy diet, but other things like porn are clear cases of cons outweighing pros and I still end up relapsing. Not looking for pity but I need to man up and stop making excuses and do it. If I did everything that was pro and nothing that was con though, I would be a very muscular super successful millionaire by now, never wasting time etc, . But sometimes we do things that are bad. For sure a flaw I will improve at no matter how long it takes.

and we are noting that morning wood/nocturnal erections are an involuntary physical process which do not involve the conscious mind. Our minds have nothing to do with nocturnal erections. So there is no “immediate relation” between porn and nocturnal erections.

It is entirely possible OP is having nocturnal erections but just doesn’t remember.

Sorry if this has been clarified already, but have you ejaculated the same amount without porn and observed morning wood, as when you made the “no morning wood” porn ejaculation observation? This would help to determine if porn is the variable, or is it frequency of ejaculation?
