Had a chance to look at your second link, the article by Dr. Alan Schwartz. (I think the follow up you linked to is better, more info)

Here is the original article he refers to:

An Anxiety Disorder: Small Penis Syndrome
http://www.ment alhelp.net/poc/ … pe=doc&id=28683

"A new study published in the British Journal of Urology International found that 85% of women are satisfied with the size and proportion of their partner’s penis. Yet, 45% of men are convinced that they have a small penis. The article also reports that actual small penis size is a relatively rare phenomenon."

He doesn’t give a link to that study, but maybe a smart person can dig it up.

ON EDIT: HA HA I’m not that smart but I am ok with GOOGLE.

Here’s an article about that British study:

Men Worry More About Penis Size Than Women, Says Study
Men Worry More About Penis Size Than Women, Says Study | Science 2.0

Quote
Small penis syndrome is much more common in men with normal sized penises than those with a small micropenis with a flaccid length of less than 7cm (2.7 inches).

One study found that 63 per cent of men complaining of small penises said their anxieties started with childhood comparisons and 37 per cent blamed erotic images viewed in their teenage years. None of the men studied actually had a micropenis.

Here’s the citation of the original study:

Here’s the pubmed reference, there are some interesting related articles on the right hand side:

I think they are talking about the review in the first link which refers to the study that I posted in another post:

"Whereas 85% of women were satisfied with their partner’s penis size, only 5% of men were satisfied with their penis size, 45% wanted to be larger, and 0.2%
wanted to be smaller. Satisfaction did not vary across age groups from 18 to 65. Men reporting a larger-than-average penis rated their appearance most favorably, suggesting a possible confidence effect of perceived large penis size."

"As we have demonstrated, men’s dissatisfaction with their penises is associated with broader patterns of body image discontent. Men who reported having a large penis also reported greater satisfaction with their body and face and less concern about exposing their body during sexual activity. In contrast, men who reported a small penis reported less satisfaction with their body and face and greater concern about exposing their body to a partner during sexual intercourse.
One plausible interpretation of these findings is that penis size affects men’s more general views of themselves, creating a confidence effect for men who consider their penis to be large and an insecurity effect for men who consider their penis to be small."

The thing that can really depress or make some smaller or average guys anxious is posts by guys who have relatively large penises complaining that their relatively large dongs are small. They may be suffering from such disorders and to them their penises do really appear small, regardless of all evidence to the contrary.

There has always been a bit of “size inflation” at thunders. Seems a little more intense right now .

For example, a fair share of this last wave of newbies came in saying their goal is 9 X 7. We’ve had some other discussions about where this might be coming from, my thought was that it was mostly from a naive viewing of porn.

I have also read some posts from guys along the lines of “8 x 6 is not that big.” No it is not that big if you compare it to a boa constrictor or a tractor-trailer. But in the penis world, 8 x 6 is huge.

I’ve appreciated some of our gay and bi members stepping up to the plate and giving a more realistic idea of what’s actually out there in the real world. That takes some guts, and it has been a great reality check.

Those members are probably a lot better at estimating penis sizes than women are. The one comment that I found interesting was one member said that even though he was longer than his boyfriend he looked significantly shorter.

I guess I am one of those guys who has commented on 8 x 6.

I just think that BP measurments on their own may be an accurate form of measuring and also reveal hidden potential but NBP measurements have to be taken into consideration also.

If 1000 women were surveyed, how many would say the 8BP x 6 guy with a 2” fatpad has a big dick?? Thick…yes. But I think most would say his dick is not big.

Current (Sept 15, 2011) BPEL - 7.6 MSEG - 5.8

Goal 8 x 6 (preferably NBPEL)

I say women would say that dick is big - maybe not so long, but definitely big. But he needs to lose some weight.

The moral of this story is, this guy should be at the gym, not trying to make his dick bigger. Or at least combine his efforts to make the most of what he’s got.

Edit: Also, realize that women who are having sex with guys with 2 inch fat pads would be comparing a 6x4.5 dick with that fat pad to an 8x6. She’s going to know its much bigger than average.

We are our biggest critics I’ve worked hard to get the penis I have now and I am now possess over 7” yet I still feel smaller however I’ll see a picture of a man with a 6” penis and thinks it’s huge,

I took a picture with my phone the other day just to see what it would look like. I looked 20% thicker/longer. Camera’s lie. You read on here all the time that most porn stars aren’t huge, just at the higher end of average. Plus most porn is shot to visually make the guys dick bigger.

Feb 2011: BPEL 6 1/16th Mid EG: 4 1/2"

I’m glad you guys revived this thread. Bohm’s links are really good - I was trying to search for this thread yesterday, but couldn’t find it.

Wish Bohm was still around, he always had interesting threads.

This fragement, of this link BLOW MY MIND!
"Why would a woman make a critical comment about the size of their partner’s genitalia?

The answer to the question is that there are always people who are insensitive, sadistic or cruel and uncaring about the feelings of others. In the same way, I have heard many women complain that a husband or boyfriend was critical about their breast size, weight or sexual appeal.

In these types of circumstances in which a boy or girl friend levels this type of criticism, I would suggest finding a new partner who is not mean and sadistic."

Hahaha
