"Dorsal Nerve Bundle"
Earlier this evening, in another thread, I repeated the oft-heard advice that one should be careful not to put much pressure on the dorsal side of the shaft, right below the head, lest one injure an important "dorsal nerve bundle."
Just now I read a thread in which Hobby argued that, contra the conventional wisdom, there is no such nerve bundle. He makes special reference to this study .
If Hobby’s claim is correct — and I certainly have no counterargument — then this would have serious implications for the safety of various hanger designs, along with various jelqing techniques (e.g., using jelq sticks along the whole shaft).
What do you all think? I hope our anatomical experts will chime in so that we can determine the veracity of the old "nerve bundle" story.
