After looking at places like NoFap and PornFree, they keep saying that edging is as bad as watching porn because the dopamine stays high if you do not ejaculate. This would be as bad as porn because the dopamine levels are at a continuous high while watching. Are the actual harmful effects of things like edging over the top?

I usually edge after each of my workouts and have excluded porn, but last night I figured even if I am porn free I am still damaging the brain.

Due to that, I watched porn to maintain an erection during pumping and I had the best pump session I ever had due to keeping an erection.

Bad or good is point of view. Edging will impact on your brain of course, but we do edging for 2 reasons: last longer in sex and maintain erection in a inflated state after PE training. 80% of Guys that have premature ejaculation have anxiety and this make our brain releases all the dopamine with the antecipation of sex, so when dude start penetration itself he can’t hold longer because his brain is releasing everything without ejaculation, that is why guys that have premature ejaculation have unsatisfactory orgasms, their ladies too. When you commit to a routine of edging you are changing how your brain will release endorphines through having pleasure with the penis and not having orgasms at the end of the session, guys that edge and then ejaculate are not programming their brain to combat premature ejaculation or even to last longer in sex. The more you edge without ejaculation you are programming your brain to slowly release endorphines in order for you to feel pleasure in the act of sex and feel horny of a woman body, scent, pheromones etc. To program and antecipation are the key words of NoFap, and I love nofap for giving me lots of knowledge towards somethings. One thing is interesting is all these benefits of quitting porn. I have been experimenting with porn and not using it and I notice no difference. Now if I never edged and watched porn, that would be different. Either way I have dopamine rushing through my brain. It is said that porn reverts brain back to a juvenile state and that it affects our prefrontal cortex due to the dopamine. That would insinuate that all dopamine would have similar affects, wouldn’t it?

It is not only dopamine, it is not that it bring is back to a juvenile state, thing is ALL living beings do is to accomplish their reward system that their brain created in order to species to prosper, you feel good when you eat because our digest system have more than 500 million neurons, 90~95% of serotonin is in your stomach, so when you eat the neurotransmissors in those areas I mentioned release those endorphines to all our nervous system and you feel good. You body created this long long time ago when we were nothing but simple set of cells, if you want to know more about this simple reward system you can search about Jordan Peterson and lobsters, there are videos on YouTube as well that explain how our reward system works. Going on, dopamine is not the problem, the problem is your behavior towards pleasure, how you act on it, you only do things on your called “free time” that you like, but you only like it SPEND TIME with it because your brain is secreting through your neurotransmissors endorphines to make to stay doing that activity, this could be: sports, reading a book, procrastination, sex, pornography etc. Anything you are able to do through long period of time is because you conditioned yourself to enjoy that, and you can only enjoy that because your brain releases those endorphines. Any kind of addiction have a similar effect to this, the problem is not dopamine, dopamine is just a means by which our brain created its rewards system in order for us to not die and reproduce, as our biology goal is to first not die and second to reproduce. The problem with porn and with drugs and food is that you trick your reward system in a way that you did not had not paid the effort in order for your brain to release the pleasure, when you watch any kind of naked women you are tricking your brain into thinking that you have already approached women, dated her and finally fucked her, for all that in any society you must have social skills, good body posture and money, all that means that you have the effort to get her naked in front of you and then have sex, then when you see the image of a naked woman you are just tricking your reward system, the same thing is with masturbation, psychoactive substances (drugs) because it instantly releases endorphines in your brain. When I see someone after a hard day of work consume some alcohol through beer or liquor or wine or whisky or brandy, that person wants to receive some external pleasure in their brain because of wasting time and energy at work, he is conditioning himself to always have alcohol after work, this is no different than a student after school come home and watch some porn and orgasm, the main problem is that this student is 80% less likely to get a girl from school and have sex. (this is just a number I got from my mind lol)

I don’t know if you have a girlfriend or someone you have a relationship, and you have sex. Well I officially quit porn. I noticed no added benefit, and now I am considering giving up on edging. It keeps dopamine levels high since I don’t ejaculate. The dopamine gives me a headache similar to watching porn. I usually edge for blood flow but I don’t know if it’s necessary. I have always edged in my routines and have gained, so I hope it doesn’t hurt to drop it.

Ive noticed that when i edge too close of orgasm it fatigues me dues to the dopamine rush or whatever u call it.

But if a retain a little bit and control my self not too close of the orgasm i feel better.

It is just the feeling that matters, try to extand orgasm to your body, not only in your dick’s area, chill and it will be great.

No need to quit edging it is a natural thing

It’s not so much the feeling I do it for. It’s the maintained expansion post workout that I think helps with gains. I have been doing this for years and have probably become desensitized. I took a week of PE and had a decent bit of mental clarity.

Just edged today after a week off and I regret it. The headaches came back strong from the dopamine rush. When you ejaculate it brings you back to baseline, but without ejaculation it keeps the levels high. I will eliminate edging forever.

Edging is good to strengthen some muscles, to retain gains because of the longer time erected.

But long edging provokes fatigue and maybe you get to a point when cumming is better.

Furthermore, when yo edge you can anticipate your own movements, but not when you are with your couple. Edging with porn may lead to ED, lack of libido, or may you feel uncomfortable. with the unexpected reactions of your partner.

I edge when ever I can. 2 to 4 times a day. In a stall or at home. When I’m on a cum stack I have the wear a condom so I don’t leak precum and cum all over. I cum every 4 days and it is awesome.

I used to enjoy edging, but I try not to ejaculate unless through wet dream or sex. I figured edging helped me for gains because I keep expansion longer, but my workout is pumping, so I’m already doing that. Since edging gives me a headache the same way porn did, I think it’s best that I stay away.
