Peel results - 6 days after applying the SA wart remover, I can call this method a preliminary success. I will know for sure in another week when the new skin has settled. Everything went mostly as hobby described, 5 star instructions.
The very dark underside penoscrotal patches that stood out like a sore thumb are gone completely. That was the area I thought was most likely hemosiderin. The more uniform, but much less noticeable, shaft discoloration that may be hyperpigmentation - that also improved but not as much. However, the spots that improved the most were also the spots that peeled the deepest, so there are multiple factors.
My cock now looks more or less normal, you’d have to go over it with a microscope and know what you’re looking for to know that I do PE. Whereas before there was a neon “PE dick” sign written in discoloration. So I’m very pleased with the results.
For reference, my sudden sharp increase in discoloration happened about 3 months ago after experimenting with tighter and longer clamping sets. It was fading very slowly, and had at least a few months to go, if not longer. I had been doing regular firegoat rolls, and had tried the DMSO method for several weeks. So the peel definitely gets the credit for the fix.
There is one small strip along the left side of the raphe that peeled earlier than everything else, possibly from friction and movement where the shaft folds over the scrotum. This area still has pink and irritated skin, and one small sore the size of a bb. I’m continuing neosporin on that area as long as necessary.
I do think this is borderline dangerous to be doing at home by oneself. Don’t undertake this method lightly. In addition to the peeling agent, you need isopropyl alcohol to disinfect the area beforehand, and antibiotic ointment to disinfect the area daily throughout the next week.
The areas where I applied a double coat of SA (see previous posts) did seem to peel deeper than the other areas. This might also be because they were penoscrotal skin areas whereas the other areas were more shaft skin. I don’t know the reason exactly, but a double coat may actually be worth it. Those were the most discolored areas for me, and they turned out the best afterward. I had other areas (the dorsal shaft skin for example) where there was relatively little peeling, and relatively little change in color, suggesting a deeper peel is better for our purposes.
In peeling instructional literature around the web, SA is listed as a light to medium facial peeling agent - however the visible effects on the penis skin in terms of scabbing, dead skin look, and recovery time are all more consistent with a medium to deep peel. Maybe this is because there is no fat in the penis skin. Also professional peelers aim for medium to deep peels when treating discoloration. So I wonder if SA is actually giving a deep peel on our penis skin while it normally gives a light peel on the face.
Finally something I didn’t see mentioned in this thread, but seemed like an important cautionary note from peeling literature - Salicylic Acid can cause a poisonous overdose reaction in VERY RARE instances, called salicylism or salicylate poisoning, which you can die from. The symptoms are dizziness, nausea, vomiting, headache, confusion, hyperventilation, rapid heartbeat - and in severe doses delirium, respiratory arrest, and coma. Apparently the amount of SA required to cause this would be equivalent to applying it to over half of your entire body’s skin surface area. But just in case, if you suddenly start puking after putting the stuff on, or some accident happens that dramatically increases the dose / area of skin contact, be ready to call an ambulance.
