Silicone Sleeves - Make your own

Did this thread die? Is the kit still going around?

Is there anybody out there willing to make a few of these and sell them? It’s really not feasible/fair to send the kit down here.

Well we got two guys in a row that haven’t been around for a while and kind of killed things. Minime doesn’t have email enabled so until he checks in and checks for a PM, that kit seems dead. I’ll scratch me head and see if I want to start another, or maybe just make a few and send them out to people that had already signed up. Kind of feels unfair to people that were waiting and hoping for this.

I’m very interested in the kit, I would be willing to paypal some cash to get it sent to me, maybe we could do a deposit system like that or I could just pay $10-15 for 2 sleeves. Maybe you could make them and send them for a small fee, this would prevent the kit from getting lost along the way. I would do it on my own, but I can’t really afford $30 for the silicone. If you do start another one, sign me up. Seriously, I think the paypal deposit might be a good idea for this thing, it would ensure that it kept getting passed around.

How much weight can it hold?

Starch, I’m in Australia too. I’ve found a place in Adelaide that stocks ecoflex 30, I’m waiting to hear back on a price (it’s Sunday) is there anyone else from Australia interested in making their own sleeves?

tps, I went out to home depot to get the pvc. But they didn’t have the low pressure pvc, so i just bought the regular pvc for both the inner and outer parts of the mold. Will this be OK?

Also, is the bold supposed to fit snugly into the inner tube of the mold? Because the piping I bought was labeled 1/2” and 1” but the inner diameters were all slightly larger and the bolt does not fit tightly into the inner pipe.

They will work. You’ll end up with a slightly thinner sleeve. Thicker sleeve is more durable, thinner easier to roll on and off. PVC is so cheap, check for the low pressure stuff next time you’re at Home Depot. They must have it and usually next to the regular stuff.

The bolt doesn’t have to fit very tight. It is used mostly to keep the inner part of the mold centered, creating a uniform thickness sleeve. After you make a sleeve or two, a bit of silicone will work its way in there anyway. :)

So will this setup make sleeves that are close in size to the vac extender sleeves or closer to the size of the vac hanger sleeves? Becasue the vac extender sleeves are too small.

Can anyone post the internal and external diameter measurements of monkeybar’s vac hanger sleeves? They seem to fit me well.

Hi, does anyone know where I can get any type of liquid silicone over in the uk. I’ve tried most places like B&Q but nothing. I don’t even know what to look for if I’m honest. Tried a search on ebay etc but nothing. Any help appreciated, thanks.

Would liquid latex work just as well? Can’t get liquid silicone over here
