Not changing it at all, though I think see what you’re getting at. If we want to split hairs, NOTHING is free (including Thunder’s Place) as one still has to pay for access in some manner. You get what I mean, I’m fairly sure of that, and there IS a pretty big monetary difference for most here between the DIY stuff, Bibs, pumps, etc v/s surgery. I won’t contend that the two extremes are necessarily mutually exclusive within a PE site in general, it’s just that to me, the high cost stuff (without other options) goes against the general theme of Thunder’s. Were always telling folks that they “don’t need to pay for PE” with regard to paysites, offering a whole forum for an option that has a huge monetary hurdle to leap over is pretty far from the theme as I see it. I’m not big on a change in that direction, perhaps you are and I respect that opinion.

Out of curiosity, are there many PE surgery forums on the web? I don’t recall searching for them, I might now just for curiosity on what is discussed. It does seem odd that there isn’t someplace out there for folks who’ve had surgeries to compare notes.

So, yes….I stand by what I’ve said on the “free” part about Thunder’s and I’ll go as far as to say that if there is a surgery forum out there, it to is “free”. In the latter case, you won’t practice PE until you drop alot of cash (or sign for a bill/payment plan). I know it’s an ambiguous notion in some respects, I tried my best to explain.

I will say this, his PHYSICAL results from the surgery are very good, but he is having a host of issues with the doctor, although these are more personal matters. I hope he comes forward with everything going on to the guys here or at I-PE but I don’t really want to discuss the details of what is going on here without his consent.

8-ball, instead of one or two loooong threads why not just gather all surgery threads in your favourites then add a link to your favourites in your signature like this Surgery Forum (Link doesn’t work because you haven’t started a favourites folder yet).

I think there should be one.

I think every major form of PE should have it’s own forum here. And there should be one other forum called “other PE” for things not in the mainstream.

It actually surprises me that there is a debate about this; seems like a no-brainer to me.

I think this is the best idea for a compromise yet. I will do it. Good thinking!

Where would non-picture threads related to surgery go? I did like the idea of an alternative methods of PE forum. Is this is possibility?

This site is also about information…at least for me. After my surgery I felt TLE left me down after surgery and I know that I have been able to give advice and support for those who have had the surgery after me.

That is why I support a surgery forum. For INFORMATION. So a guy considering it has a place to go to get some answers.

This is a very valid point but we won’t be changing anyone’s mind about this anytime soon here, hence my concession.

Simple and compelling. If there is an information vacuum out there, then this evaluation should consider that, IMO. A secondary, but legitimate concern (as PG so clearly presented) is the appearance of endorsement of surgical PE implicit in a dedicated forum. Appropriately placed a little further down the decision tree, IMO, but a very real issue is the moderation of this proposed forum.

I’d like to change my answer to the third choice. But keep talkin’ tto, pending your reply (and/or that/those of your fellow also compelling pro-surgical PE forum supporters), I may want to change my vote to a 2 or even a 1 :)

First off, answer this:

Is there an information vacuum out there with respect to surgical PE?

Or not. As you see fit.

I have decided to compile all of my information about surgery and post operative care at my forum https://www.i-pe.com/forums

I will still update my progress thread and ask questions here if people need about the surgery, but I am looking for a place targeted just around PE surgery and Thunders obviously doesn’t seem to be the place. I just wanted to let the few people who are interested in surgery info know about this and perhaps newbies and other people who are curious about the surgery can be referred there for more information by the moderators here.
