The Mindset of Victory: Create Your Success in PE
Hey there, TG here. Today I’m here to talk about the mindset of victory. The one tool that can be changed, shaped, and formed specifically for the task of achieving a goal. You can read the text in blue if you’re a skimmer or learn the entire thing. This message is important, whichever way you take it.
When I read progress reports or hear tales of miracle gainers I notice one common thread. The stories and reports are overwhelmingly positive. The guys in question have no doubt that they’re gaining, that they’ll continue to gain and that they are in control of what is happening and will reach their goals. I know it’s cliche to say but…it is the way you think. The fact is the way you think is the way you are now and why you will become the way you will be in the future. Use the power of positive thought to change your destiny now.
Think about it. It’s the guys who are the most depressed and the saddest that post to the injury forum the most. I do not just mean PE injuries, either. And typically, when explaining their injuries they list the 10 million other things going wrong at the time in their lives and why it is especially important for them to recover and continue PE (or whatever their obsession is at the time). They actually set themselves up for failure by priming themselves to stay negative while asking for a positive outcome. Those same guys like to refute every solution offered, too. Like they want to stay injured or unhappy. They seldom look on the bright side. I know you know someone like that. Everyone does, even if they are that person. There’s no shame in admitting it. There’s only sadness in letting negativity define you after you realize it.
So today…I’m going to talk about how to take failures and turn them into successes. How to be the winner you already are inside and bring out the best in yourself. (If you are the type that doesn’t believe in motivational ‘mumbo-jumbo’ and those are the words you use to describe it, this post ain’t for you.)
First things first, there is no ‘might’ here. Whatever it is you’re after…you will get it. Anyone who has a habit of winning never talks about if he wins, only when he will win. It is always just a matter of time and effort. Nothing else. Be willing to put those things in and remember you live in a reality where you are a winner and you win. It is as simple as that.
Really, while I could conclude the work right here…obviously the tricks to actually program your mind for fucking victory are why you’re here so let’s get into those.
Discipline
Have you ever heard the phrases “The military will make a man out of you” or “Martial arts makes a person strong of heart”? There is truth in those lines and in other organized institutions bringing an intangible that makes someone stronger. It’s discipline. Know that focusing on a task and repeating it makes you good at said task and gives you a skill that is worth keeping as well as an increased feeling of self-worth. People who have completed a degree, who have served their country, who have finished tasks that few complete and find themselves among an elite or at least less common crowd of people realize that with focus and time comes a goal and strength to attain it.
How do we apply this to PE?
We realize that the system is designed with us in mind. That it rewards patience and consistency over physical battery and pushing hard at will. You do not have to do PE the same time and same way every day. However, you have to approach PE with the same mindset that it will pan out without worrying about it, counting the minutes till your gains come and expecting changes overnight. Discipline keeps us on the straight and narrow because we understand the value of a long-term goal is more important than short-term gratification or results. Those who stay focused reach their goals. Those who lose hope, lose motivation and demand results fast never actually gain.
Lose the negativity.
Winners never take a setback lying down. They just attack their goal from a new angle. A good shooter takes the times that he can’t afford ammo or to compete as a time to study the great shooters, read up on new hardware and ammunition and study things about other shooting disciplines. You cannot always be after your goal actively but you can take those forced setbacks in stride and merely call those “regrouping days” and stay on the path just as true.
How we apply it to PE
If you PE for a long time, especially if you have a long-term goal of 2” or more BPEL gain or 1” or more MSEG gain…you’ll be at this a long time. You will either end up having to decondition because the gains stop or decondition because you’re hurt. Do not take the fact that there will be times you have to not PE as simply a setback. It is not a setback at all. Decon breaks are a great time to research new devices, exercises, read progress reports to learn more things that you will want to try when you’re back in the PE saddle. Do not take the inability to actively strive towards your goal as lost time. Simply re-purpose the time and use it to stay motivated and more eager to resume with more knowledge sharper and better. Take vacations with ease. Forget about your routine, research a bit of PE then live your life. Come back with more energy when you’re fully recharged and raring to go. The best gains you’ll get are when you’re mentally revved up and physically charged up.
Visualize your victory until it happens (then visualize your next one while this one is happening)
People who win are not surprised that they win. They think about it constantly. Achieving their goal is thier favorite fantasy. They live in the moment waiting for it to happen and they put their entire beings in to that end goal. The fact that they win is not a surprise, it is an eventuality. If you do what it takes to win and continue to take the mindset that the reality that you live in has you as a winner then you have already won; you’re just waiting for your reward. Think about your goal in a positive way. Think about your life after you’ve achieved this goal. Move about your life as the person who would have the ability to achieve this goal. Become that person.
How we apply this to PE
This is where I mentioned programming your mind to produce the results you want. I also reference a term that I myself have grown to love for any long-term PE Practitioner. Become your own favorite porn star. Literally, kick Shane Diesel, Danny D and Mandingo out of your head. They’re now your competition and you have no need to watch them to get yourself off. You’re your favorite porn star. Start using your past experiences as something that turn you on. Think about your past escapades, gains you’ve made, or even the fact that you…as you are, are an attractive male and can do whatever you set your mind to. Remember, you are your favorite alpha male and visualize that man as you do PE. He is a winner. He’s a victor in whatever contest he chooses to participate in because the best tool to win is a winner’s mindset and he already has it. Let the winner inside you take control.
Materials Needed
1 Mind
A fair bit of Temperance (It’s a fancy word that basically means ‘discipline’ and ‘steadiness of character’ in this context)
A lot of Patience
All of these are available inside of you. You can start saving it up or putting it into practice as needed. Practice makes perfect. You can do it. That’s why you’re here.
Positive change never needs to wait.
Now: 9" BPEL x 6.25" MSEG as of 11/10/2019 This is my story, a few progress pics of me here, and all my methods.
