Under different apects, this question as been asked quite a few times. Still I’d like to ask it again, but put it in different words(I did use the forum search and read the hanger’s 101, among others): So my question should rather be: What to do if you don’t feel a decent stretch when hanging, and you’re still new to it. I’ve started hanging beginning of January. November 05, I’ve started (after a 6 months experimental phase) a rather lenght-emphasizing workout, mainly consisting of different manual stretches, stretching as hard as I could until fatigue set in (the fatigue of my arms!). I did gain a good bit of it, but uh oh, my arms! That’s how I found interest in hanging. I just measured that my hand pull overhand grip, can create a force of about 15-20 pound (in weight). That’s what makes me feel stretched. Now back to hanging I started with 5 pound SO and up to 11’, I’m now at 8 pounds, but all I can feel is the pressure behind my glans after 20 mins, not the stretch in my shaft or tunica. I also feel like my tunica has rather toughened in the last few weeks stretching with 6-8 pounds only. What would you suggest me to do? Better increase the weight, or hang more often than 2 sets a day, or combine more weight with additional manual stretches?

What kind of hanger are you using?

it’s inspired by captain’s wench except for some modifications and some more wrapping.

I also use the cap. wrench, but i am not having problems with the pressure behind the gland and also getting a good internal stretch. What kind of modifications have you made? I can easily do 6 sets,20 min.,with 10lbs with no problem and get a good internal stretch.

Doubleweener:

  1. Are you using heat?
  2. Are you pressing absolutely all of the blood out of your glans?
  3. How tight is your hanger gripping your shaft?

my modification is that I don’t have the foam pads, so I wrap about as much as you’d wrap underneath the BIB hanger
1. heat as good as possible. warm up of course, and infra read during hanging, even though it only warms up half of the shaft
2. probably not enough
3. very tight. I’m uncut, so it’s gotta be extra-tight

maybe I’m not doing enough sets. I’ve never managed (timewise) to do more than 3 a day, or two with a short warmup in between. Or I’m a bit impatient since I made some good gains doing hardcore manual stretches, and it takes some more time gettin into hanging. Dunno, but you’ve got more experience than me. Did you get directly into hanging, when to expect gains, how steady to increase the weight…?

Your hanger is not gripping the internal structure of the penis properly, Doubleweener. Those pads, or a reasonable substitute, are important! I used rubber furniture levelling pads on my Wench, some have used Pink Pearl erasers… increasing the weight is not the answer here, my man. Increasing the effectiveness of the weight is. If the hanger isn’t gripping your dick properly, it’s not going to be effective.

In terms of hanging, I’ve found that it takes a few months for most guys to get it right. It’s a learned skill just like any other. Give yourself some time, and don’t be in too much of a hurry to jump up in weight: low weight over a long period of time is the most effective, which is why most hangers combine with an ADS for optimal results.

As for my personal history: I started pumping back in the early 90’s, and gained mostly girth and ball size from the pumping. I also pumped myself into a fabulous case of erectile dysfunction. I found Thunder’s through “Tom Hubbard’s” old site. I’d maxed around 7” with the pumping, and lost most of those gains during my ED period. In a few weeks of manual, I was back around 7 again.

As a long-time pumper, I was slightly resistant to hanging, but when I started lurking here, there was a dude named BIB here, who was a hanging advocate, to say the least. Lots of hanging talk in those days. :D I wanted length, (I’m well over 6” EG when pumped), so I started hanging, first with a Wench, then with one of BIB’s commercial hangers. Gained 1” BPEL from hanging, hit 8”, started a maintenance routine…

My point, Doubleweener, is that PE is a long-term project: like any form of exercise, progress takes time. Be patient, amigo, put in the time, keep careful measurements, and you’ll see progress!

Either fix your hanger (see Modesto’s Wenchette thread) or buy a Bib. The hanger should never be the limiting factor in how much weight you use.

Once that’s taken care of, build up to your maximum daily volume (number of sets). Then start increasing the weight until it’s the most you can COMFORTABLY handle. You should be able read, use the computer, or watch TV without being distracted by the hanger. After that, patience, persistence and possibly decon breaks are the keys to making gains.

Hm, i’ve still got some of my old mouse-pad made of this soft foamy material, which I already used to modify my ADS. I think I’ll use that as pads.

Plus I’ll increase the sets.

Maybe two SO in the morning and two SU before going to bed. In the afternoon I’ll do half an hour of manual stretching. A routine like that, done regularly 5on 2off should surely be more than enough. Thanks for sharing your experience! :)

You’ll get better results by concentrating all your efforts on one angle. Keep working it until the gains stop or substantially slow. Then either take a decon break or try switching angles. As to which angle you start with, that’s obviously your call. But if I could only use one angle, it would be SO.

Thanks MX, that’s definitely another point I wasn’t sure of. I don’t know whether there’s still any potential in my ligs. If it’s a question of my LOT (which I doubt in some way) then there wouldn’t be much of a chance (my LOT is about 6:00)
