Bathmate Users -- how do you manage pressure?

I was no real expert on using the Bathmate. I tended to pump that sucker up until no more water would come out. Then combine that with the fact that I would use the Bathmate during my morning shower and then do my regular air pumping later in the day, put me into a discoloration/going overboard condition.

Before doing any more work on trying to use lower pressure, I just went back to my preferred once a day air pumping method with my trusty old gauge.

If you are going to use the Bathmate, I think the only thing to tell you is though a little trial and error, you will establish the difference in feel between a moderate pump pressure and the max pump pressure that is achieved when no more water can be squirted out the end of the cylinder. I think you will find it to be easy to use.

Since I got mine out to do those measurements, I might be giving mine another try tomorrow. If I do, I will try to exercise a little more self control! :)

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

I want to thank you guys for inspiring me to get my Bathmate out of storage and giving it another try. I have been using it for a couple of mornings now, and instead of pumping it up to the max like I did when I first got it, I just take it easy and give it at least enough pressure to hold it on while I take my shower, but not enough pressure to make it uncomfortable. I get a great morning pump with no trauma and am still able to do my regular workout later in the day without going overboard. Just another reminder for me that avoiding damage is key to making all of these efforts successful. I am going to give the Bathmate two thumbs up. :)

Gprent, what do you think? I am going to be ordering a pump within the next two weeks. I really like the bathmate though. Do you suggest I start out with this? I really love the convenience of being able to do it in the bath/shower. And then leaving it hanging on your unit while you do shower. Excellent idea of a pump.

Is it easy to regulate and manage the pressure? Will it stay on while I shower, even if I don’t pump it to so much pressure? Would a pumping noob be able to tell the difference?

I really think you can make it work for you. There might be a little learning curve involved, but since you are interested in keeping your routine on the safe side I think you will do fine. Just start off with enough pressure that it will stay on while you are standing in the shower and slowly add from there. It will work fine for you.

That’s fantastic, G! We have to thank YOU for giving us so much vauable information about the device!

I hope that you can make the best out of it, now that you’ve decided to use it again!

Can you please tell us if there’s any sort of difference between the post pump engorgement (bathmate vs air pumping)? Also, there’s something I’ve really wanted to ask you for a long time now: would the bathmate be better for someone looking for flaccid gains? My flaccid is still very small, and the idea of a great post-pump flaccid seems great to me!

Thanks in advance!

Yes, andro, I’m back to pumping, but I started from the very bottom, doing a 5 minutes set.

I will gradually increase the time in the tube, but it’s just 5 minutes for now!

Anyway, did you report any substantial flaccid gains, or are those just temporary?

No, I can’t really tell much post pump difference between the two methods. The bathmate might give a little quicker engorgement, but that is only an impression right now and I don’t have any measurements to back it up.

Pumping has been my primary PE method for a long time now and it has completely eliminated my turtle dick flaccid problem. It takes time though and the best way to speed the process up is to avoid trauma. When you cause excessive damage, you cock will just want to retreat and that is the last thing you want for flaccid size improvement. The other thing is consistency with a frequent PE schedule. Eventually you should work up to three 5 minute sets and from there work up to three 10 minute sets. That should just about be enough to get all of the results you want. The most pressure you ever really need is 5”hg but there is no rush to get to that level either. Just avoid trauma and let that be your guide going forward.

I don’t know how old you are, but another thing you might want to consider for flaccid improvement is taking Cialis/tadalafil. I take around 10mg every three days and it keeps you hanging long. No problems with erections either. ;)

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my questions! Also, thank you for your wonderful suggestions and guidelines!

Pumping is my primary PE method for now, too. Actually, I’m not quite sure about this, but if I start to see some gains again, I’ll probably won’t even dare to try to incorporate any other exercise, such as jelqing or stretching. Let’s see what happens.

Have you ever gained anything from a pumping-only regimen? I’ve realised that my penis is very PE-sensitive, so I’m probably one of those who can’t gain with heavy routines. I’ve been there, and it didn’t work.

I always pump at 2.5”. I’m avoiding trauma the best I can, and the truth is, my penis is not turtling anymore after a routine. But hey, it still looks small (flaccid).

I am 24 (will be 25 next month), and I’ve never tried any sort of medicine to improve my sexual health. I will give it a try, if I ever need it in the future.

Yes, I get them. It is just from contact with the corrugated pumping boot. I don’t think it is necessarily an indication of using too much pressure. A more clear indication of using too much pressure would be that it feels uncomfortably tight or you start getting shaft discoloration or red spots from broken capillaries.

gprent — thanks for writing all this up. I’ve got one on order now and this is very helpful for getting started with it.

I notice in the bathmate demo videos the model seems to be going in soft rather than hard. Is that how you are using it for your morning shower session?

So the schedule is 5 minute sets with ?? minutes between - also for bathmate? I recall their homepage saying 20 minute sets, one a day. Or something like that.

Taped onto the dashboard of a car at a junkyard, I once found the following: "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement." The car was crashed.

Primary goal: To have an EQ above average (i.e. streetsmart, compassionate about life and happy) Secondary goal: to make an anagram of my signature denoting how I feel about my gains

No. Doesn’t matter what kind of pumping I am doing, I like to go in with an erection.

I have never timed it, but I put it on at the start of my shower and after getting all soaped up, take if off for the rinse, so it has been on for 5-10 minutes. Then I put it back on and leave it on while I get dry and squeegee down the shower, so that is another 5 minutes or so.

If you are doing it for a main routine, I think a couple of 10 minute sets would be better than one 20 minute set.

I also wear two of my not so famous broccoli bands the entire time that act as an elastic cock ring.
