If you want a 1.75” round tube equivalent, their 1.5” elliptical would be the one you want. I have the 1.75” elliptical and like it a lot. Since I am not shaved, the flange gives me more room to grease up and get a better seal and the shape looks/feels good to me - although this comes at a hefty premium.I don’t know if it matters to you, but your 1.5” elliptical would only give you 1/2” expansion before you’re packing the tube. In my relatively limited experience with pumping, I am able to pack the tube after a while going from 5.5” MEG to a post pump 6.25”, which would suggest you might want to have a second larger tube for staging. From a straight cost standpoint (especially if the flange isn’t important to you), you would be far better off just buying a brake bleeder pump from Harbor Freight ($26.99), two cylinders 1.75” ($25.99) and 2” ($26.99) from LeLuv on eBay and a quick disconnect coupling from McMaster-Carr ($1.36). With tax and shipping, you’d be spending ~50% of the LA Pump price with the benefit of the extra tube.
“The Oval is measured using the inside diameter”
Ok, I get it now. When they say that they are referring to the SMALLER inside diameter since their 1 1/2” is nominally 1 1/2” x 1 15/16”. Gotcha.
I’m real interested in your experience with the 1.75” elliptical. To me, that size makes a lot of sense with your 5.5” MEG since it gives you 0.75” expansion to pack the tube. That seems like ideal sizing to me, but I’m a total pumping newbie. I see from your stats that you started at 4.75 MEG, then achieved 5” MEG and are now 5.5 MEG. (Congrats, by the way) At what point did you get your 1.75” elliptical? For example, did you get it when you were 5” MEG like I am now?
I think the 0.5” expansion is a little less than ideal, but I think it is still in the ok range. I’m afraid that with the 1.75” oval tube, I’d end up with more edema and do-nut issues to get the 1.25-1.3” inch girth expansion necessary to pack that tube. I plan on slowly working up the time and the in-Hg of vacuum to a max of 4, maybe 5, tops. I’m a lot more interested in “blood inside the dick” expansion than lymph fluid in the skin expansion. Assuming I like it, which I think I will, once I pack the tube, I plan on buying a second bigger tube for staging.
Oh, also, I don’t plan on shaving my way back to puberty :) , so I think a flange is a good idea. Thanks a lot JD!
