Thickwall cylinder + pump from amazon

Thickwall cylinder + pump from amazon

I have decided I would go for a thickwall cylinder since I live in Europe, there are many positive reviews about the quality, and leluv is out of stock for now.

I don’t want to buy the starter’s kit, since the pump is made of plastic and is therefore a bad idea for long term use.

The question I have is about the pump itself, I read the whole thread on Harbor freight brake bleeder kit, and found this post by firegoat firegoat - Buying pump in uk

So I’m wondering if any of the cheaper pumps found in this link would be relevant choices http://www.amaz … ef=nb_sb_noss_1 (e.g. 1, 2 and 4) . I know firegoat recommended a more expensive one, but since they all look exactly the same I wouldn’t mind saving up some money.

Also with these pumps , what connector would I need from this link?

Use the less expensive but exact same brake bleeder pump that you found.

For connecting parts from thickwall, buy the male pump connector for 3.99 pounds and the silicone tubing for 9.99 pounds for 1 meter. 1 meter is enough. And of course, buy these when you buy the cylinder from them.

Ok I guess I’ll go with this one then http://www.amaz … /dp/B00HHXRBWI/ do you think it’s better than the plastic one from thickwall?

I hope I won’t end up with seal/gauge problems! A silicone tube is sold with the pump, should I still buy an other one from thickwall website?

Is there any ways to use the accessories to water pump (fluid container)?

Will I be able to use the gauge if I do so?

Thank you gprent!

An all metal pump with a brass barrel vs plastic? Metal every time.

The problem with the silicone tube sold with the pump is I think you will find it to be a little short. The problem with the thickwall tubing is it is very expensive. If you know a store, like a hardware store, where you can buy the clear tubing locally, do it. The tubing should be 3/16” ID by 5/16” OD or if I do my millimeter conversion correctly, 4.75mm ID by 7.94mm OD.

I would say forget about water pumping for the foreseeable future until you become an air pump expert. The water container sold with the pump it pretty small and if you do ever try water pumping you might want to supply your own water container.

You don’t want to get water into the gauge or the pump for that matter.

Thank you!

I have emailed leluv to know if when their cylinders will be available again, and I haven’t found interesting prices for silicone tubes, so might as well go with the thickwall one.

Is there everything I need there? Is a quick disconnect necessary?

The cylinders come with the female quick disconnect screwed into the top and the pump has the male end. So if you want to connect the two, you need the male quick disconnect. The brake bleeder pump does not come with one. If you bought the exact same pump at a higher price from a penis pump company it would come with the male connector, but you are piecing your system together so you have to buy the parts individually.

It looks to me like Leluv has 2” diameter cylinders back in stock.

Check this out:

This is the best tubing to buy - Internal 5mm. It’s fabulous quality and very inexpensive.

Thanks firegoat, that’s like a quarter of the price.. Do they exist on amazon ? I found this http://www.amaz … /dp/B00L18GNU6/ but well, "dispatched within 2 to 3 weeks" ..
I’m not sure I understood correctly what you explained gprent, so the quick disconnect is just the part which connects the hose of the pump to the cylinder? So the 3.99 £ male connector found on thickwall is all I need? (I think I’ve seen safety quick release something , perhaps it was built on the pump itself)

What is the difference between leluv’ and thickwall’s cylinders? Leluv seems to be flanged, and I read thickwall’s retained heat better. As I will use my IR lamp , I don’t think it will be too important .

An other possibility is to wait for cosmetic flaws on thickwall’s cylinder and buy them for 36 £, do you know how often they sell them? I asked but obviously had no answer (which I can understand)

Walter, click on the ebay link in my post #8 above. For some reason that link did not work on the PM I sent you.

“item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in some countries”, I found it on amazon anyway, 30 dollars! (sent you the link in the pm)

The stuff on Amazon looks the same but why wait for despatch - last time I ordered off ebay it was shipped almost instantly.

You have understood correctly about the connector - you just need the £3.99 male part. The female part is included with the cylinder.

I haven’t closely looked at the Leluv, but a quality cylinder is a quality cylinder. I have never actually seen a cosmetic flaw cylinder on Thickwall, and the likelihood of one the spec you wanted coming up isn’t that high. At Thickwall cylinders are hand-custom made as they are ordered, but delivery is still quick.

I think you should be set. Buy the cylinder and male connector from Thickwall and buy the brake bleeder pump that you found. Then you can start the new year happily pumping your cock. :)

I would roughly save 18 £ buying from leluv, yet I like the idea to buy from thickwall (from their mail reply they sound nice, and their cylinders are hand made) . This way I will receive the cylinder much quicker, and, if there’s a problem (unlikely), I will be able to return it quicker too (leluv refund everything but I would wait for ages).

Now I’ll just pray for the pump to work fine, what’s your opinion on the pump I chose firegoat?

As for the hose, the one from your link (firegoat) is very expensive when I include the shipment fees, I’ll go for this one or this one
