WATER PUMPING > Air Pumping

Sparkyx and LV; I thank you both very much for the value you guys are providing in this thread.

A few questions:

1) Do you guys maintain the belief that pumping although with water should be combined with jelqing in order to get meaningful (cemented) gains? I know a lot of the veterans on this board and several longtime pumpers who never did manual work maintain this belief.

2) Sparkyx mentions 30 minute sets at low vacuum levels for girth work. Do you have any guidelines for how long the sets could/should be when pumping for length?

Personally I used to stick with 10 minute sets, but I would certainly don`t mind doubling that amount of time if it seems to work out.

Thanks in advance,

I can only speak for myself. I think that for many guys the force needed to stretch the tunica might be more than air pumping can produce without edema. Water pumping, however might be enough to do the job by itself.
However, I think in general jelquing or stretching usually makes pumping more productive by pre-stretching the tissue, thus allow better expansion with lower force/time.

No, I really don’t. I just am in the initial phases of this experimentation. However, probably a similar length of time, but probably need to break it up in 10 minute sets because of the higher vacuum levels.

Just keep in mind that you don’t want to drop EQ below about 5, and you don’t want edema. Work within that framework and see what you come up with.

Thanks for the comments, sparkyx.

I have done two sets of waterpumping the last two days with mixed results. In other words, I did not feel like it was like it should be. Today it did however work like a charm! If any of you guys did not get it right the first time, keep experimenting and consider some jelqing at least prior to the first set.

What I did today was that I warmed up very good with a wet wrap for 5 minutes. Then I performed 10 minutes of what Braindrain would call perfect jelqing at roughly 70-80% erection levels.

Then I inserted my member into the waterfilled tube, got my seal and sucked out some water. I was surprised to see how quickly my penis stretched and reached a length of just below my BPEL. It felt effortless. The other days I have felt that I`ve been pushing it trying to get to a pumped length that actually was 1/4” shorter than today. The 10 minutes in the tube was very relaxing and I really enjoyed it.

I now understand why LV says that he will never airpump again;)

Water pumping will become a permanent part of my routine from now on, but I won`t be able to do much of it at this point.

Kind regards,

Renholder

In addition, there is something that in a way is ‘in between’ the two, and that is condom pumping. It has many of the benefits of water pumping and avoids some of the pitfalls of air pumping. It is easier than water pumping, in that you don’t have to worry about water spillage or gauge concerns, and is pretty cheap and easy to try out.

Lampwick,

The ease of water pumping is precisely the reason I am so enthusiastic. Air pumping takes much more effort from me (as does condom pumping for obvious reasons), as I have explained in the original post. It takes a while to get used to using the water method, but it is so clean, easy, and quick (for someone living alone, I expect) that it is just fantastic.

I believe the results to be superior also, clearly.

I understand the complicating factor of explaining condoms if you don’t have them in the house otherwise or if you don’t have some good explanation. Of course, if you’re concealing pumping gear, it doesn’t take much more to conceal the condoms as well, and if you’re open with the pumping gear, I would think the condoms would be as explainable.

Of course, for condom pumping, you don’t need to buy the larger or more expensive condoms. Cheap standard condoms are just fine and can be used for multiple sessions.

But you still have to buy condoms. That means the hassle of attaching them and taking them off, and the financial issue. Water pumping on the other hand is free, seems to be just as (if not more) productive, and is really not at all a hassle once you get used to it. I water pump while working at my dual monitor desktop…I have a lot of technological equipment around me, and UNLIKE with other pumping (where I had to worry about lube), I have no hassle.

EDIT: Lampwick, I see you are using a bathmate. While I’m sure it seems easier, I do not believe a bathmate is practical for people pumping to gain. I have read about it here, it seems to require more preparation than the method described with a normal pump and tube. This might be the reason for you preferring condom pumping.

Exactly. You guys really have to try it. We do not know if water pumping is empirically superior to normal pumping, but is surely easier than other pumping for most people that like to do things while pumping (computer wise, reading, etc.).

Really unnecessarily complicating this, braindrain. Sparkyx’s method or the simple method I described would do just fine. As long as you are making sure to measure, there is little additional benefit in using the pump gauge.

EDIT: A poster mentioned buying a gauge from an auto parts store. I also don’t think this is necessary if you are using sparkyx’s LUV method and measuring the pumped penis length. Sparkyx’s idea is very useful and seems to work perfectly for him and me also. Obviously the penis might change over time and be more receptive to growth in the pump, such that it will reach higher length levels at lower vacuum levels, but this is unimportant as the reference here was to using a gauge to avoid injury, not to use vacuum levels instead of in-pump length as the independent variable in the system.

Anyone still using regular air pumping?:-)

I have switched to Water Pumping as well. It’s only been a few days but I am really liking it. I’ll keep you guys updated on how the water pumping is working out for me compared to the air pumping.

Starting BPEL: 5.6-5.75 Starting MSEG: 4.1 to 4.3

I have been pumping for only a week, but I am intrigued by the discussion on water pumping. I bought an inexpensive pumping system that included a bulb for air vacuum pumping. I tried it for water pumping and found that it works great for water pumping. You can suck the water out of the cylinder by sucking on the end of the bulb and the bulb holds the vacuum in the cylinder. Works as good as an in-line valve.

Hi Guys, I thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth of advice/information on this subject/thread.
I have been pumping as well as using an X4 stretcher for a little over 2 months now.
I find that I like both and I am having some really good results.
I bought the pump w/gauge when I first bought my "set up" pump/tubes, etc.
I live in Dallas and we have a store here called Leather Masters (sex store), among the many "kinky things" they sell is penis pumps and tubes.
Anyway, they also sell hand-pump brass bilge pumps that boaters would use for pumping water out of their boats, so it works perfect for water pumping.
I have one of these brass pumps and I love it for water pumping in the bath tub.
You get a nice relaxing time in a hot tub, and a nice pump on your dick.
I fill the tube with hot water, insert my dick inside and pump up, and then disconnect the pump and let my dick expand.
When you see the pic on the website you’ll see the tube that connects to your tube and the water outlet point at the top and on the side of the pump.
After a while, I re-connect the pump and pump some more.
Understand that there isn’t a gauge on this pump, so you will have to guage the vacuum by feel.

See the web link below.posted with moderator’s permission of course.

Please understand, I am NOT am employee of Leather Masters or any of their affiliates, so I am not trying to do a "sales job" on anyone, I just thought my information might help someone with their pumping.

If the Moderator chooses not to allow the web link to be posted for whatever reason, then I will completely understand, and you can send me an email I will send you the web link that way.

Take care guys,
Happy Pumping

I find that COLD water works much much better.

I have a co-worker who is a serious tri-athlete. He and his wife both are crazy about the sport and they have some intense workout tricks to help their performance. One interesting one is that with the +100F degree Texas heat, after they run or cycle, they jump in a bathtub full of ice and water. Reason for this is not to cool the body down from the outside heat, but to force blood vessels back into deep muscle tissue. He notes that blood vessels will rise to the surface to release heat and exchange oxygen. With the presence of extreme cold to the skin, it forces blood back down to retain heat in the bodies core.

With this in mind, I can see where some benefits to using cold water would be on the CS and CC while erect. Though this is a hypothesis, maybe a week of warm water, followed by a week of cold would keep development up?

I actually have a super long tube on my pump, so if my cylinder is full, I can pump enough pressure to almost not get water to the gauge. One thing I need to do though is hook up the little container that comes with the Harbor Freight brass pump for added protection. I’d rather have the gauge just so I can try and keep a note of my pressure for consistency.

I’ll try this out soon, haven’t pumped before but I have some years of PE behind me.

Got a cylinder on the way. Any recommendations for a newbie?

I’m going to try the system of just having a cylinder and a tube.

One question:

If I manage to build up a sufficient vacuum with my mouth and then disconnect the tube from the cylinder, wouldn’t air come inside the cylinder causing the vacuum to disappear?

No, it`s air tight.

Actually, I think I would recommend most newbies to use a gauge when pumping.

What`s most likely is that you will push the pressure to high and you can read about the negative effects of that in dozens of threads in this section.
