So since I decided to pause the recent extender effort until the Fall. I decided to explore the VED(Pumping) protocol that is based on recent clinical studies.

So there was a study that explored the optimal pressure and they found that was around 4hg. And then they looked at different pumping protocols and found that 5 minutes with a 2 minute rest followed by another 5 minutes, provided the best results during the 28 day study period.

I am not expecting much from this in terms of PE especially given the vast experience shared by the members here, but I am curious if such a limited protocol would have positive EQ benefits.

From my previous limited pumping experience, I do not want any red dots or edema. I have tried this once before and there was neither. So we’ll give this a go. We’ll go 28 days and then reassess.

I think what I’ll do is start noting the length in the tube and how much of the tube is packed as a way of tracking. And anecdotal EQ observations.

Too early to say for sure, but it seems like, you gain a little length, you pack a little less, you maintain the length you pack a little more. We’ll see if that pattern holds up.

It seems inconceivable to me that such a small effort could yield any results, but it seems like it does? Anyway we will stick with the protocol for 28 days and see if incremental improvements continue.

Based on their findings the authors in the article cited above, noted that based on the clinical findings durations of 4-8 minutes might be optimal and that 2-3 treatments caused less issues than the 4 treatments of 2,3,2,3. However they noted that the adverse effects of the 4 short treatments, might be related to friction.

I guess at some point it would be interesting to compare adding a little duration say 6,6 versus increasing the number of sessions, say 5,5,5 and then contrasting length in the tube and the amount of the tube that is packed, versus side effects. So far no side effects so I don’t want to mess with anything.

For rats at least.

Almost 6-7/8" so that pattern continues, a little more length packs a little less. Still no weights but I’m steady on the running and the weight is drifting down.

Hmmm I thought the conversion was to PSI which would be 3.87? You know I could be completely wrong.

So this was the research that explored the optimal pressure. Note that the authors did posit that 300mmhg might be worth considering ,but that the fibrosis risk at 400mmhg+ was too high.

Now that I look at the gauge it does say in hg not PSI, so looks like I had it wrong. The 200 mmhg mark clearly is at 7.87.Ok well that would explain why 2 X 5 minute sessions would be sufficient. Hmmm.
