More problems today. I did wash with a wash cloth, but I noticed when working the extender that the skin on the glans was so slippery that I could not get a hold of it. Afterwards I washed the noose well with soap and water and for tomorrows session I’m going to shower and lather up real good so that the skin is sticky so that I can assess what is going on.

I know for sure that I lost a good bit of muscle with Covid so I’m wondering if I’m still just recovering from that impact.

VED is going great, more length was gained in the tube and it is tolerated well. The top of the base does show considerable blanching at the end of the session, which makes me think that a 2-1/8” tube will probably need to be acquired, but overall this tube is working out well for now.

Had a pretty good week here. But looking at the log, a short vacation and then contracting Covid and I lost a month. A 5 month campaign for 5-6 mm and then a hiccup and now it’s a 7.5 month campaign. Is it any wonder that most fall off?

So today exerted some discipline and backed the tension off to 86 half turns to ensure that we got the duration. This should set us up for success for the rest of the week. Tension at end wasn’t bad. Forming a donut now with the increased duration on the pump. I want to see how this resolves today, was only going to take it to 30 minutes, will see about backing off depending on how it goes. I really don’t like seeing the edema.

We were able to get to max tension again so a good sign. Trending higher highs and higher lows in terms of the tension or half turns. Goal is to solidify the progression next week and then take 3 weeks to consolidate before going to maintenance. Not sure what I’m doing with the pumping regimen. I don’t like the edema at all so for sure so that needs a more conservative approach.

I’ve been pumping for a couple of years now, on a pretty heavy schedule. I use a 30 minute timer, close enough to the 27 and 28 minutes you mentioned above. I don’t get any edema at 30 minutes pumping cold. With the RLT light, I get slight edema, even though it’s just barely warm. With the heating pad wrapped around the tube, I’ll get a moderate-size donut. I’m pumping at 4”, which is all my little electric pump can do.

If you’re getting a donut at 28 minutes, with heat, at 4”Hg, I’d consider that normal.

I generally use the Red Light Therapy light twice a day; once on top side, once on the bottom. Every couple of months I’ll try the heating pad to see if I still get a big donut. I still get it almost every time. Lots of stretch though.

I’m not using heat during the pump but right before during the extending. It’s weird because I was getting nothing and then all of a sudden. I think that is was the time off and then going right back to the duration I was up to before that was the mistake. Probably just need to back off and then ramp up slowly again.

Another great session. Ended in a good forward position in the cradle and the glans condition was excellent at the end. Heat tolerance was attenuated but not bad. Looking at 4 more weeks to consolidate this and then go to maintenance. Still need to get the picture for any future effort for definitive comparison of progress. I’m still undecided if I go again, but for sure I am in the long deload camp. I will still explore the VED but I’m unsure about a long run effort there as I dislike any edema, so it would have to occur below that threshold. Hopefully nothing sets me back and we wrap this campaign up soon.
