First Post - Looking for Advice on 9 Day Old Injury

I’ve been doing stretches for a few months now and never really spent any serious time jelqing. I decided to give jelqing a shot over a week ago using a silicon based lube. I made sure that I wasn’t fully erect and did 3-4 second slow jelqs. At the time I did not think my grip was too tight but I’m starting to think I was mistaken. The next morning I woke up with weak morning wood and started having sex with my girlfriend. I’m usually a very horny guy and my penis being very sensitive, never had an issue finishing before. After about a minute or so I just noticed that the sensation really wasn’t there and my erection was weak. It’s been about a week or so and I haven’t done any stretching or jelqing. I have masturbated on occasion but with a very light grip and only stimulating just under the glans (I know I shouldn’t even do that).

It’s been a little over a week or so and I did a little more research into the possible causes of my injuries. I came across reports of venous leaks which seem to match up very similarly to my own experiences thus far. It wasn’t really affecting me that much but today it really hit hard. The possible outcome that an injury like this would have on my psyche and relationship is a pretty scary thing. I’ve told my girlfriend that I just masturbated too hard and she has been understanding (I’ve been getting her off other ways) but I can’t escape the thought that her being an attractive and younger (26) year old woman would lend to her wanting to move on if I can’t get an erection (somewhat understandably).

Anyways, I was going to wait a few more days before going to my GP and possibly getting a referral to a specialist but in the meantime I was hoping I could get some input from other members on the forum who have had a similar experience. Regarding the physical symptoms of the injury, there were virtually none. I had small read dots on the shaft and glans but they cleared up by the end of the day. The penis does seem to be a bit darker than usual but it is hard to say. I have not had a spontaneous erection since the incident although I have gotten it up after kissing although the erection didn’t last long and wasn’t that hard. When erect the penis is generally much smaller than usual until just before ejaculation when it gets pretty close to full size, although not quite as hard. Morning wood has been inconsistent (only 2-3 times over the past week or so). I am able to pump blood into the head and keep it there if focused but it takes a lot of focus. I noticed that on the base of my shaft itself there seems to be numbness for an inch or two, and even slight numbness if I follow the shaft down past the scrotum.

Has anyone had these types of symptoms and had it not be venous leakage? If so please give me some input because I’ve found myself having some dark thoughts at a few points today and I’d like something to keep my thoughts positive. Thank you in advance and I apologize for posting it to this section, it’s just that I’ve been a lurker for too long.

Those are not symptoms of venous leak. I think you are just tired and anxious.

You don’t say how many jelqs you did or how much time you spent jelqing, but from the rest of your post it seems to me that you probably just slightly over stressed the tissues. It’s a little bit like if you haven’t been for a run for a long time and you do too much; you can end up with aching knees, hips and shins even though you didn’t seem to do much.

I’m expecting that you will have seen a slow improvement over the last few days that will continue, and in a couple of weeks time you will suddenly realise you haven’t thought about it for a few days.

I did the jelqs for 5 minutes on one day and 5 minutes on the second day. I’m going to see s urologist just in case but if it is nerve/tissue related are there any creams you would recommend?

I told my girlfriend about the worst possible outcome and she was very supportive so I’m feeling better. Thank you for the quick responses. I’ll let you know how it goes at the urologist.

Other than venous leak (which can be caused by fibrosis) the biggest worry after an injury has to be scarring/fibrosis.

Acetyl carnitine and coq10 have both shown in studies that they work well for Peyronie’s sufferers, so should have some preventative effect in your case and are cheap over the counter supplements.

Daily low dose cialis has shown in one study to have anti-fibrotic properties - The role of PDE5 inhibitors in penile septal scar remodeling: assessment of clinical and radiological outcomes and viagra is used for some non penis related fibrotic conditions.

Most penis injuries recover, but a small percentage do not. If things haven’t cleared up in a month (and they almost certainly will clear up) post again and we’ll go from there. If you see any bending or dents that you didn’t have before, PM me.

In the meantime keep inflammation as low as possible by getting 7-8 hours good quality sleep, eating well (keep insulin low) and minimise stress.

I’ll be sure to grab both of those today, thanks for the tip. Would kanabo have any products worth using? Also, I take it I should abstain from sexual activity such as masturbation right? How about heating pads or flacid massages? I’ll stay hands off for the time being unless I hear people have had success otherwise. Thanks again.

If there is any current inflammation then heat or massage is not a good idea as it will tend to exacerbate it. However, after nine days you should be safe but keep it gentle! You may well find light masturbation is fine too.

Good news. I seem to be getting sensation back very slowly. I also no longer believe I have any sort of leakage. I was able to maintain a hard erection for a few minutes with only mental stimulation, although I was kissing a bit. I pressed the blood out of my glans and it refilled quickly and was firm. The penis is still a bit achy both when hard and flaccid, but generally only after it’s been hard for a bit. It seems a bit harder while flaccid but that’s sort of random and generally coincides with when it’s in pain.

Sounds like it will make an easy full recovery.

Yeah, part of it was laziness and the other part was some people saying that they weren’t really sold on it, but I should have aired on the side of caution. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully getting a referral to a urologist. It’s been two weeks at this point and some of the numbness I was experiencing at the base of the shaft (right where it hits the pelvic bone) is subsiding I believe, it almost feels like there’s a cold breeze hitting it even when I’m inside. Along with my perceived return of sensation there also seems to be more pain (which I assume is better than no feeling at all). I’m going to try my hardest to not masturbate or have sex (I had masturbated during the first two weeks by just stimulating under the glans, no shaft action really). I’m going to have to take some xanax or something because I’ve been driving my crazy which I’m sure is impacting the healing process, it should also help with my sexual urges as I’ve noticed myself being more irritable. I’m thinking some of my issues with getting an erection are heavily mental because every now and then when I’m around my girlfriend it kind of just pops up without much stimulation at all. One thing that I didn’t mention before is that when the penis is flaccid that it seems to hang smaller than before and almost looks old and wrinkly. That is one of the most common things I read when people have injured their penis. If it makes you feel more comfortable to go to see a doctor, then you should go, although I think you will heal just fine.

Quick question. Been browsing for information on using hot / warm pads to help the healing process. It’s been about 16 days now and I just bought a hot / cold pad. Should I only do hot at this point or both? Or is it not effective? I also bought a multi-vitamin, ginseng, and ginko. Going to get ginger and green tea soon as well. Any feedback?

Do hot or cold or both at this point - either or both will increase bloodflow. Heat will dilate blood vessels. Cold will remove any inflammation, and as the tissues will want to return to body temperature as quickly as possible after the cold is removed, your body will flush the area with lots of nice fresh nutrient and oxygen laden blood.

If you are ever in doubt as to which to use, stick with cold. If there is any inflammation present, cold will help but heat will make it worse, so you can’t go wrong with cold. BUT make sure you put some thin cloth like a tea towel or t shirt material between any ice pack and your penis (you don’t want the ice to stick!), and don’t leave the cold on for more than about 5 minutes as your penis isn’t very dense tissue and will chill thorough quickly compared to, say, icing a thigh or buttock :)

Docs just gonna say don’t jelq because he has no data, then he’ll say give it time, because he doesn’t know what to do, but go in I fit makes ya feel better.

I broke my dick during sex many years ago, it made a loud snapping noise and I couldn’t have sex or masturbate for like 2 months because it hurt like crazy. It healed though, and there is very little chance yours won’t heal, just like with any injury, it just takes time. I would wait til you are fully healed for PE, it’s not worth the risk. Don’t stress and worry man, 2 weeks healing time is not much, give it a few months before you even think about worrying.
