Probable injury

I was doing some PE last night before heading off to bed. I have only been doing PE for a short while and I think I tried to run when I should have been walking as it were. I just recently came across this forum. I was introduced to jelqing one late night when coming across the “good looking loser” website.

I was a bit overzealous last night and did more strokes than normal (500 compared to 200) about 4 seconds per stroke. When I was finished I noticed what I can only imagine is a type of swelling around the shaft just below the head bulging out the the left. After thinking about it I thought perhaps this was the “turtle penis” I had heard about. I have since figured out this is not the case.

After sleeping for around 5 hours the “swelling” has gone done by at least half. There is no bruising, and only a very slight twinge of pain that is sporadic and very mild, no discoloration at all either. Since it has gone down in size I am guessing it will go back to normal. Stupid noob mistake on my part. Towards the end I was going past the head with each stroke and holding back the skin from the base of my penis to make the strokes easier. For some reason it seemed like a good thing to do.

I doubt the second thing really caused this, but most likely a combination of squeezing too hard, too many strokes and going past the head caused this. I thought maybe this was a big blood blister but it doesn’t feel like that at all. It feels “solid” not like a blister at all and there is no discoloration, though that may appear later. This really freaked me out last night, but I am hopeful it will go back to normal. I would appreciate any insight into what this is and if it will indeed go away.

Just other side information, I am not on any medication of any kind. I do drink energy drinks and the odd cup of coffee. My daily life can be stressful but I have not been under as mush stress as is usual lately. I do not drink alcohol or smoke. I have a grand total of about 2 weeks jelqing so far under my belt. If any other possibly pertinent information is needed I can provide it but this is all I can think to include.

It sounds like you were jelqing on a full or close to full erection. Yes?

I’m also curious to learn your response to Don’s question.

You described it as being under the glans on the left side. Did the swelling expand further around the shaft, or just stay in the same place?

Turtling is when your penis shrinks up smaller than usual, which is caused by over working/over stressing the penis. A rest day or two followed by reducing your work out will take care of it. It is a common response and is a key PI for monitoring PE activity and its effectiveness.

The fluid buildup you describe could be edema, which when located under and around the glans is commonly called a “donut”. If it is edema it will go away in a few hours to a day.

Sounds like typical lymphatic fluid oedema/doughnut, as 32 said. (Both of which are spelt differently this side of the pond 😁).

firegoat is fully RETIRED from Thundersplace.

All injuries happen from "too much", or "too much, too soon" or "doing the exercise incorrectly".

Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. The ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth. Basics.... firegoat roll How to use the Search button for best results

Sounds like it’s just edema. It can happen with ordinary masturbation if it has been a long time between bouts. The larger part of the swollen area will usually be where your fingertips rest.

It takes longer to go down than pumping edema because the friction between the skin and shaft irritated things.

Thanks for the info. It has gone away completely through the day while I was working. As to your question don I would say around 80% max then waiting for it to go back to around 50% or so. Now that I did a quick search on edema it would seem that was the case. “Doughnut” sounds about right, I neglected to mention that at first it was all the way around the shaft but had subsided to only the left side by morning five hours later. It felt somewhat like a blister but was deeper than the surface so I was confused on that part. It was primarily to the left just below the head and seemed to be sinking to the bottom of the shaft below the head as well. I continued to check periodically throughout the day and was quite pleased to see it steadily going away. I am curious if it would behoove me to hold off on PE for a few weeks or if it would be okay to continue at the previous pace I had been going at around 200 strokes and about 4 seconds each, or should I possibly adopt a new routine? I am not sure if what I saw on the good looking loser website was info that is par for the course or even what others think of the guy but his picture results do speak for themselves so I thought it was okay to proceed. I do think I was definitely overzealous last night and backing off to my previous pace for a few more weeks to build up conditioning would be a good idea. Any extra advice would be appreciated of course, that definitely had me worried for sure last night.

You can continue your program, but I’d recommend reducing the number of jelqs you are doing, adjusting as necessary to find the sweet spot where you can maximize the number but not get edema.
