I’ve worried about that. Personally as a younger person, I don’t need the pills to get an erection, however when I do take them my erections are for sure a lot firmer and easier to maintain. However, given the fact that they inhibit something (which is known as the protein PDE5), I assume your body would try to make more of what it is inhibiting (PDE5) to try to compensate. Therefore if you take it constantly I would think that the body would make more of the protein that reduces the stiffness of erections (PDE5).
However, given that the majority of prescriptions are given as ‘take as needed’, the majority of people don’t take them daily so most people’s bodies aren’t trying to constantly make more of the protein it is inhibiting (PDE5). But if you don’t need it to take it to maintain erections, and do take it daily, I could potentially see problems arising. However, if your boner did become ‘addicted’ to it, I doubt it would be hard to overcome the need for it if you just stopped taking it since it is not psychologically addictive, and your body would return to its normal state over time as long as you are healthy.
